So full speed SMG, at any resolution, is out based on my CPU. Got it.

How 'bout Gamecube games?
Your GPU easily handles those resolutions.
As I've said before: you should be able to play most games fullspeed.
Super Mario Galaxy requires LLE, otherwise the music stops playing.
With LLE enabled, you're going to need to overclock your CPU a bit, 4GHz+ is recommended to maintain the fullspeed.

What other games are you intending to play?

Wind Waker, Twilight Princess (gamecube), Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil Zero, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash.

No. You need a good cpu at any resolution but you also need a good gpu at higher resolutions. The gpu requirements scale with resolution (the higher your internal resolution is the more powerful your gpu needs to be) while the cpu requirements of the game stay exactly the same.

Think of it like this. Upgrading your cpu increases your maximum performance. Upgrading your gpu decreases the performance drop from the maximum that you get from raising your internal resolution. Set your IR to 1x and run your games and that's the performance you're going to get at 1080p with a good gpu.

Depends on the game.

Quote:Specifically, I was looking at this Corsair and this Rosewill.

There are MANY good power supply models and brands, however rosewill is not one of them.

Thanks for that info.

These should run great.
Make sure you check the Dolphin Wiki (link in my sig) for each game and configurate accordingly.
Thanks all. Based on feedback, I think I'm gonna go with this power supply.
Looks decent.
I see that most of the games listed is excellent candidates for the stable Dolphin 3.0 release and you got some good specs.
If you want you could head over to my thread for ideas how to configure that specific version of Dolphin.
Link is in my signature.
You won't need more than 500W - 500W are enough for normal users ^.^
