I got one of those generic ps2 usb controllers for PC, kind of shit you find anywhere, doesnt even have a brand. It works just fine, perfectly, but I'm having some problems.
I'm playing Zelda Wind Waker and I'm really having problems aiming things, with the bow and mirror shield, since the analog stick recognizes only 2 positions: idle and full speed ahead. I couldnt find any kind of mid-terms in the GCpad configs.
So, long story short, is there any way I can configure my usb ps2 controller analog stick to recognize smooth pressure aplied to it, and not only be so sensitive and jumpy?
Quote:since the analog stick recognizes only 2 positions
type Controller into the startmenu search box and click "setup usb game controllers"
click properties in the controller(s) in the list then run a calibration.
Try that, i used to also use a ps2 USB but i didnt have such a problem
Err, couldnt find that... I mean, the windows startmenu search box, rite? If yes, nothing like that showed up =/.
It doesnt came with a software that I can configure it, it's plug and play =s
Check the devices and printers window for your pad, right click and click the calibrate from there
You mean this?
Didn't help =(.
It just adjust what specific controls do, not the pressure needed to aply on them.
EDIT
Btw, it's in portuguese, I'm brazilian, and it says, respectively: "Configurations > Calibrating game controller > Calibrate."
The other image is: "Axis calibration", but doesnt calibrate pressure =/.
Axes use scales, not pressure to determine range.
if calibration did not fix the range scaling then the adapter drivers or adapter itself is faulty.
I guess the controller itself is too "cheap" to have that kind of "technology"...
Isn't there any software or generic drive I could use to compensate that?
Ok I have to jump in here and go back the the first question you asked.

Ok first off to aim on the console you use the main stick. So if you mapped things right you will also be aiming with the main stick. Now the main stick has a Y axis and a X axis. Each axis has 255 values Center would be 128,128 for example. So at idle its 128 and as you press up it counts up to 255. So what on earth are you talking about? Are you saying in the controller test panel you dont get anything but 0,128 and 255 ? In other words full forward and at rest are the only two position that register?

Ahm, something like that.
In my calibration screen there arent any of those infos you said: 0, 128, 255, it just asks to rotate the Y-X axis and then the Z axis. There's nothing else =/.
