Hello everyone,

Long time lurker here, first time poster.Wink
So I've been trying to get Skyward Sword to work on Dolphin, but it seems that I can't get the performance I'm supposed to be getting according to the wiki page.

I'm using:
Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.6GHz
Sapphire Radeon HD 6770
2gb RAM
Foxconn G31MXP-K
Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

According to TheWing, the game is supposed to run at 30fps all the time perfectly, seeing as how he also uses an E8400 at the same clock speed as me.

Naturally, I'm also using revision 7719 with the same configuration.
With the "Skip EFB Access to CPU" setting checked I seem to get close to fullspeed at times, but whenever I fight an enemy the fps drops by a considerable amount. When "Skip EFB Access to CPU" is unchecked it's nowhere near fullspeed, regardless of the area I'm in.

Is there some kind of secret hidden setting I don't know of? I've played around with all the graphical enhancements, hacks and general configuration, but nothing seems to do the trick.
The only thing I can think of that could be the problem is my RAM, since the rest of my specs are equal (if not better) to TheWing's set-up. But does RAM really matter that much when it comes to Dolphin? I don't think I've ever heard of RAM being someone's bottleneck before.

Thanks in advance!
Steffan
Ram won't affect performance at all
Try Vbeam
Check your CPU with Realtemp to make sure it not overheat
BTW
NTSC version : 30 FPS max
PAL version : 25 FPS max
Unless you care about 1-5% lol
1Gb of Ram + i5 2500K will rape 32Gb of Ram + i3/i5/i7 1st gen
I hope you get it . Getting more ram won't help a slow pc run faster
@OP
2Gb Ram is enough for 32bit
4Gb Ram ....................64bit

op never mentioned capacity, just ram as a general bottleneck

which it is.

Dolphin needs DDR3 1600+ for decent copy to ram performance
Stay on topic please
Skyward Sword doesn't need "EFB copy to Ram" .
Old rev (such as r7719) are unsupported . Latest rev run fine here
Well 7719 might be unsupported but it's bloody good for dealing with Skyward Sword.
After 2 consistent and solid playthroughs with a combined effort of 95 hours + and not as much a hiccup, freeze or sneeze.
That's a good result in my book for an unsupported build.

Still haven't tried any new rev lately so I can't speak of that but anyway.

Then things have changed since the last time i tried it, when it DID else there was distortion in temples.

Okay I've tried literally every option now, on several builds, and none of them show any significant improvement over the other.
Vbeam didn't help much, it made the title screen and menus slower but seemed to speed up the game (though not by much)

If I understand correctly, RAM shouldn't affect performance on this particular game because EFB copy to RAM isn't turned on, right? So that's not the problem here.
I'm clueless.

Maybe it has something to do with my motherboard?
The only way to overclock on this thing is by increasing the CPU FSB, whereas "normally" you would overclock by increasing the multiplier. Should this have any effect on the performance?
No.

But you could try older Dolphin revisions (such as r6515 or 6505), they're faster than the newer ones (but less accurate).
