And I'd just figured out exactly how to tell how good a card was from its number alone. Will there be much of a difference between ddr3 and gddr5 on the same card.

At least AMD aren't doing this... yet.
It's been like this for years......where have you been?

Some nvidia gpus support two different types of video ram and so card manufacturers can choose which one to use in their cards. GDDR3 is of course cheaper but slower.
It's just that sounds worse than usually. Normally I'll understand what's going on by the end of an article. Maybe that was just a confusingly written article.
