Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Hi, Im new to emulation so I'm sorry if its something really simple.

I downloaded Dolphin and have watched a couple of videos on how to set it up.
But whenever I try to open Monster hunter Tri it comes up with the error ""C:\Users|Daniel\Desktop\Dolphin\Monster Hunter Tri.iso" is an invalid GCM/ISO file, or is not a GC/Wii ISO."

Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong?

It sounds like you have a bad dump. Perhaps redump the game?

How does one do that? I got this ISO from a friend so I have no idea how to do that and im not 100% sure he got it legally

If he dumped it all you have to do is get him to redump it if he got illegally then you both lose

Getting it from a friend is technically the same as downloading from the internet. In both cases, you're obtaining something which you don't legally own, especially if your friend was a pirate. Buy the game yourself, get the Homebrew Channel, and use Cleanrip. That's one of the easiest legal ways to go. Downloading games is against the forum rules, and so is any other illegitimate means of getting ISOs.
