I got mine today, and have just been testing with MKDD, and I must say, it works flawless. It only detects L/R triggers when pressed all the way in, which is great
They also included a CD, but I don't have CD drive now, so I can check whats in it.
EDIT: As expected, the CD included the extra driver, so rumble works now

Just been playing some Mario Sunshine, and it is NOT how it works on the real system. When playing Mario Sunshine on a proper GameCube, you if you only slightly press the L/R triggers it enables you to run whilst spraying water, and if you press the L/R triggers fully (so it clicks) you stand still and spray water. With the Dolphin emulator because it doesn't seem to detect L/R triggers unless they are fully pressed in, it means you cannot run whilst spraying water. It's not a massive deal, but just wanted to point out that if the reason Dolphin isn't detecting the L/R trigger sensitivity is because the maker(s) thought that that is how it works on the real system, it's not unfortunately.
Did you set up the analog L/R in dolphin?
I'm a little confused about whether this adapter sucks or not... None of the games I have (windwaker, RE2+3) use the analog trigger buttons... so am I safe in assuming I won't have any other problems aside from the triggers when buying it?
The alternative is to buy a 360 pad (or even a Wii U pro controller if it can be made to work), which would be useful for modern games but cost twice as much and be less authentic for cube games.

My bad (kinda), whoever stated that the real Gamecube controller didn't use analog L/R buttons was incorrect, and so I didn't think anything more of it. I can confirm that this adapter works fine with an official GC controller, and Dolphin 3.0 and 3.0-815. The rumble feature works fine, as well as all the buttons. I had a slight hiccup with setting up the analogue L/R, for some reason on the L trigger it only detects the analogue when I am releasing it, rather than pushing it in. This may be because my controller is faulty, I'm not sure, either way it's only a slight mishap and it doesn't effect any of the vast amount of games that I play (any of the games that I play that need analogue triggers is only on the R trigger anyway). My advice is that if you prefer a GC controller to others, use one with this adapter- works fine with my set up as described.

Nope that how it should work. Pressing in goes from 254 to 0 and letting goes goes from 0 to 254. Dolphin natively looks for an increase not a decrease.

Weird how its only on the L trigger, let me just check to see how it functions on SMSS.
Edit: After testing, my R trigger analogue (which is detected when pressing it in) works as intended on SMSS, perhaps it just detected Yr- instead of Yr+ or vice versa, either way not a problem because you can just manually input it to whatever it needs to be

Could be a dolphin bug then I guess, my adapter ( not MF ) needed the same thing and it was the same for both buttons. I guess its possible MF reversed R and not L but I find that hard to believe.
I ordered from amazon and got the old version... the box even looked scuffed up and opened. I asked play-asia about their stock and got this reply:
"Dear Nathan,
Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.
It is the old version.
Best regards"
No luck there.
I did try it out and got all of the buttons to respond correctly in dolphin's GC pad setup. The analog triggers seemed to be working and the bar for analog trigger lit up red more and more as I pressed them in further, but I didn't have any games to test them out on. I did have a problem playing Windwaker where the controller would intermittently stop responding; it would happen every 10 seconds or so and not register any input for a second or two before working again. I didn't notice the same problem when using the pad with snes9x.
I'm considering giving up on the gamecube adapter and using the classic controller to USB instead so I can use the CCPro. That would be a much better option for emulating snes games and it would probably work better for modern games too, the only drawback is no rumble and it wouldn't be as perfect for gamecube games as the original pad. Does anyone have experience with the CC to usb adapter?

The only slight flaw is that (as somebody else mentioned above I think) you have to press the L/R triggers in all the way for it to be detected. HOWEVER, I'm also using Mayflash/GC controller with Project64, and on Project64 it detects the L/R triggers if I only push them in half the way etc, which leads me to believe that the problem lies within some kind of confliction with Dolphin and the Mayflash, or I just have some settings wrong in Dolphin.
Either way, pressing the L/R triggers in all the way isn't a bother for me, and I can safely say that other than that it works with Dolphin (and an official GC controller) perfectly for anybody that may be thinking of getting it.
Sorry if this is a semi-necro or if it's not really related to Doplhin, but I would like to know how you got yours to work with Project64? I bought my own adapter very recently from eBay, and I believe is the newest version of the adapter; except that mine doesn't work in Project64 (Zelda: OoT and MM mainly). It detects the inputs, but it detects them all wrong (I noticed it instantly detects "Rx -" which I believe happens to be the L button but slighty pressed), and the games are simply NOT playable. I'm also using an original gamecube controller.
thanks for any answers
