Hey together,

yep, another "my specs" thread.
I'm mainly posting this because I'm curious how my CPU will run dolphin.
Here are the specs:

AMD FX-8150 (Bulldozer @3,6GHZ)
Nvidia GTX 580 AMP!2
16GB DDR3 1866 RAM
120GB SSD S-ATA3
Soundblaster Recon3D
Win7 HomePr. 64bit

Because I do not own a single WII game, I'm planning to only play GC games.
Will dolphin run smooth? I can only refer to pcsx2, which runs a bit better with Intel CPUs as far as I know.

PS: Forgive my enlish, I'm german.
First of all, pls read this -> http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread...#pid205832

And then, try again. *Reported*

btw: I'm German too Tongue

I'm sorry. Sad

I only own Eternal Darkness, Harvest Moon, Pikmin, Baten Kaitos, Phantasy Star Online, Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine/Party, Mystic Heroes, one Wario Game and Twilight Princess.
It is so fu***** hard and expensive to get you hands on some of this pieces.
I already looked at the compability list, most of the games are rated with four stars, so it is at least comaptible. Angel

I'd like to play every game on the highest graphics available. Sorry for the missing information in the first post.
I'm sorry to say this but bulldozer cpus do not run dolphin anywhere near as well as modern intel cpus. It will do an OK job and that's about it. Pikmin and twilight princess should run reasonably well (but not fullspeed all the time). Metroid prime will have major slowdowns. The rest of those games I don't have so I don't know.

Hmm...
it really sounds like I should chance my cpu.
Since I have my AM3+ mainboard, what cpu should I get?
The AMD II Phenom X6 or the Phenom II X4 965?

Dolphin uses 2 cores if I'm correct...
Yes, Dolphin uses 2 cores. (3, if DSP LLE on thread is checked)

To the CPU: Get the Phenom X6 and overclock it.

Why get a phenom II X6? It's significantly more expensive and dolphin only uses 2-3 cores.
openmp uses another core
Phenom 2 x4 965

Faster core-per-clock than an X6 (though not by much.)

At about 4.2 ghz is better than my i5 2300.
Quote:openmp uses another core

It doesn't, the only thing which brings the core usage above 2 cores is LLE sound.
