If you can't buy one, and won't make one then candles is the best bodge-job. If you have a Wii you could put its sensor bar under (or above) the screen, turn the Wii on (with the Wiimote already connected to the computer), get it past the health and safety screen (as it doesn't power the sensor bar before this) and use this sensor bar, but that uses more power than simply powering a sensor bar, as the Wii has to be on too.
If I have a wii why would I play wii games on pc then...
Better graphics? 1080p/720p?

There are many stores selling IR-LEDs.
I haven't got a clue about wiring and stuff but it shouldn't be too difficult...
