This is a pretty cool media center I've been using for movies, music and pictures (among other things). You can grab it here if you're interested.

Here are some shots of some menus and some of my movies.

Looks good, but I'd rather use the KM Player. I don't like media centres as they're very bloated usually, and the reason I use KM Player is because it's the least bloated one that will play everything.
XBMC will be a blast paired with a Raspberry Pi B. It looks good and is very userfriendly for those who arn't so technical.

You've got a nice collection of movies SS, even if there's some SD movies in there Tongue.
Are those your personal scores?

Not really. MPC Home Cinema is the best, least bloated player out there.
No, those scores were there when the move directory loaded up for the first time. I'll have to see what options there are for those. And yeah, I've got about 270 movies, you can't even see 90% of them from the list. That doesn't include any of the TV series stuff like Family Guy, The Walking Dead and dozens more. Unfortunately, only about 40% of my collection is in HD.

I'm pretty sure those are iMdb ratings

I've got almost 400, but i have to re-encode them to save space which shrivels down quality atimes Sad

Yeah, and if you know how to configure your ffdshow directshow filters it could possibly be the best player out there but sadly i still use it as my secondary player, using Divx plus player, the dfx audio enhancer there is just incredible and too good to ignore

I've never used a media before but i'll try this, looks a bit heavy though :/
I really doubt this will run on a raspberry pi, for a start this is compiled for x86, not ARM, and it will also use a ton of RAM. One of the 'features' of the pi is that there isn't enough RAM to run things with a fancy GUI, so you use programs DOS style.

You're clearly misguided. The Raspberry Pi is capable of running an OS.
The creators have SD card images of several Linux Distro's that work fine on the Raspberry.

They've also revamped the specs a bit, so both models A and B have 256MB RAM.
More info on their site.

Here's a video of a Raspberry that runs XBMC.
When I last checked it could only run a stripped down version of Debian ('complete' and user friendly linux wise), and couldn't run anything except the OS with any level of GUI on the older A, and could just about manage text based (no flash or JavaScript) internet browser on the B and new A. They may have done some more optimisations since I last checked, but there's no way this bit of software will be compatible in its current form.
When will they change the name! Xbox Media Center doesn't even run on Xbox anymore and everytime time I hear of it I think of it that version and go thats cool but I don't watch many DVDs/Xvids anymore.
That seems to make only a limited amount of sense. Could you try to rephrase that?
