My problem is that when i start a game it goes to the start screen, i press start (enter), it says "there is no memory file, would you like to make one", i say yes, then it goes to the screen that says "the game cant be saved would you like to play anyway" i say yes and it just goes back to the start screen... can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?
settings? Dolphin revision? which game?

more information pls ._.
how about press a (accept) instead of b (cancel) on the format memory card screen?
:/
Fwiw, OP's profile says 3.0-.578, though it's a good idea if the rest of the hardware info were properly filled out.
every game... and if i try clicking yes on the format memory screen it just goes to the "game cant be saved would u like to continue" screen
Even if you say it's a problem for "every game", it'd be helpful to know which game's you've tried. Also, post your settings, either as text or a screenshot.

this is because you are pressing B instead of A
sure, so far i have two games both with the same results, pokemon xd gale of darkness and paper mario thousand year door.

everything else is either off or a second option
your settings do not matter, you are pressing the wrong button on the gamecube controller (B) which the game takes to mean no even if you have yes selected!
press A on yes at the format screen and it will work

Can you follow these directions?
sorry i just read that post, u r COMPLETLY right and now i feel really stupid... but now im getting an error message that says "could not write memory card file, are you running dolphin from a cd/dvd, or is the save file maybe write protected?" should i be worried, because the game is still working
