It doesn't, it simply shows you that OCing is an option. It was your mistake assuming I don't know the risks of OCing, without asking.

@ Asus G73JH-TZ034V comment, wow your laptop went from 1.6 GHZ to 3.2 GHZ, that is pretty amazing Smile. Feed your lies to people that don't know anything about computers please. BTW that laptop is the most overpriced piece of garbage in the entire planet, so have fun with your hotbox haha.

Edit: here's A post you've made yourself:

So i have an asus G73jh

Processor Name Intel Core i7-740QM
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor Speed 1.73 GHz
RAM 8 GB
Weight 8.2 lb
Screen Size 17.3 inches
Screen Size Type Widescreen
Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5870
Graphics Memory 512
Storage Capacity (as Tested) 640 GB
Rotation Speed 5400 rpm--------- Installing new SSD
Networking Options 802.11n
Primary Optical Drive Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW
Battery Type 75 Whr (Watt hours)

I like the processor speed Smile

Thought i was talking to people who knew things about computer but by your statement i can rule you out.

1st : Why you gotta hate?

2nd : Yes it is over priced if you pay what normal people pay fortunately enough i got it for $800 on craigslist with a 120 force SSD and 2gig extra ram installed... So got a pretty sweet deal on it. (and that was a year ago)

3rd : POS lappy? being that my PC would bend yours over a barrel and %$# it. I'm going to have to disagree.. again. every game Crysis2, BF3, Fear 3, STALKER... shit you name it and Ive rocked it out with max settings, so having a portable gaming rig that can literally run any game at max setting for $800 makes it a POS then yeah i guess your right.

And finally the PROOF that you don't know shit.

So an i7 has this thing called turbo boost. While it says it is an i7-720qm clocked at 1.72 the cores clock differently while using different programs. for instance if i was to use just one core it would clock at about 3.2..... two cores around 2.8 each and four cores its 1.72

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Turbo_Boost

And that's not even true because thats before the OC tech installed in the PC.

This is of course unless CPUZ and throttlestop are both lying to me. because i doubt that i could get 100% playability with kirby return to dream land on a 1.72

Which bring me back to post #1 why you gotta talk shit. These forums are for talking and asking questions Providing feedback ETC. Not trolling.

And before i kick this out, Yes im aware that i could of build a SMOKING desktop for $800 and i could of (getting across that i don't lack the knowledge of how to do so, its not like its hard) but i wanted a lappy. Next build here in about a year will be a new PC

Dude you are the one acting like an ass, you acted like you had A laptop that could do 3.2GHZ on each core lmfao. In no way shape or form does your laptop beat out my system, especially now that I've chosen to go for the 6850 (which OC's very very well). BTW you are using A laptop, A LAPTOP do you know how big the screen difference between us is? You have almost half of my screensize lol. And this PC is way better to work on than yours for multimedia purposes, I hate gaming on laptops anyway (especially on 17''+, mobile trash). Laptops are good for work, not gaming (at high levels).
And battery life on the ROG-made Asus laptops are hooooooorrible when it comes to battery life, this has been said countless times by users, not to mention the lack of driver support ROG gives. You should have just went with an i3 that supports hyperthreading and can help you with school, but still play a decent amount of games. Now you're stuck with that.... thing lol.
Ooo, Athlon vs Sandybridge........
Hey guys there's no need for dirty talking here, try having friendly conversations and discussions.

Cool (where's the Like-Button?)
As much as i'd like to comment on the erm...discussion, what i have to say will probably just add fuel to the fire.....
Where's the angry neobrain? I'm interested to see who gets points first.

Also bear in mind that (from what I've read somewhere on these forums, so if it's wrong correct me) 4.5GHz of the best AMD is needed to keep up with 3GHz of Sandy Bridge. I don't know how well it scales down, but I'm inclined to say jagernaut beats dodge112 for at least processor.

Also, before arguing about screen size, remember that a laptop can be plugged into a bigger screen if needed. If you feel the need to say yours is bigger than his (not what she said (as she'd then be a he)) then do it somewhere where he cares.
Cough Cough "42 1080i LCD" cough cough. Smile

Lappy sucks for high end gaming that can push ANY pc game out with max settings? I guess i can see how that works out....
