Hi everybody,

A few days ago, I decided to try Dolphin to play the Wii Games I always wanted to play. It is incredible how the Dolphin can run better than any other console emulator I've ever tried.

Now I am pretty decided to buy the Motion Controllers (specially to play Skyward Sword), but before I buy them, I was trying Dolphin with Keyboard / Mouse.

I tried to play Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, and even the Zelda Skyward Sword with the unofficial versions that supports Motion Plus Emulation.

Almost seems perfect. The Games run smooth, no lag, no graphical problems. The only thing that ruins everything is the moment when you watch the cutscenes. The cutscenes are all played with a normal FPS, but the sound is chopped, and the video seems to be a bit slower (even with the normal FPS). When this happens, it is impossible to bare a cutscene.

I am actually using the HLE plugin with DSound Backend 48000 Hz

If someone knows why this happens or how to fix it, then I will be a little happy guy ^^

----- EDIT: -----

My Specs Are:

CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T (2.8 Ghz)
GPU: ATI HD 5850
Memory: 4Gb 1333mhz
Especially for Super Mario Galaxy you could do with a bit more processing power (for full speed SMG you need a heavily overclocked Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPU as cores don't help, but speed and architectural differences do), but I'd expect that if you get 100% speed in game there wouldn't be much of a difference for the cutscenes. If you are getting close to full speed try using LLE audio (with LLE on thread to put it on its own core to avoid slowdowns) to fix the sound.
Thanks for your reply AnyOldName,

I tried to use the LLE plugin yesterday, but i coundn't, because it fails to load. I think i need to dump the audio, but I don't know how.
I know i am such a noob, but I've read the topic "How to Dump Your DSP!" (Link: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=3823) many times, tried to follow the instructions, but I didn't really understand how to dump the audio.

In the moment I get home I'll try again.

But one more time thanks for your reply.
Okay, you need a Wii with Homebrew Channel installed in order to dump your DSP.

Download DSPSpy and put the boot.dol in a folder like DSPSpy. This folder you have to move to SD://apps/. Now start the Homebrew Channel and start DSPSpy. After that, dump your DSP. Done Smile

Thanks DefenderX, now it is clear in my mind. As soon as I get home i will test and come back to say if it worked.
If you don't have the homebrew channel yet you could try loading it through another method (eg bannerbomb), but I would install homebrew anyway: it's very useful.
more precisely, pls ^^

If you have Firmware 4.2:
* Bannerbomb

If you have Firmware 4.3
* Letterbomb

There are also some other exploits (such as Indiana Pwns) but you need the special games in order to use them.
I am not at home yet, but I have one doubt:

When you say that I need a Wii with Homebrew, can I use Homebrew with Dolphin, or I will have to use a real Wii ?

I don't have a Nintendo Wii, but this is not a problem as I can get one for a couple of days with my friends.
Yes, you need a real Wii.

Yeah, that's really good Wink
If it's someone else's, load the dumper with an exploit, not the homebrew channel. If I didn't know what it did I'd be fairly cross if someone put things on my Wii (especially if they'd put on bootmii as well as the homebrew channel, as I disapprove of changing things, but am fine with adding things).
