because in dolphins case, o3 increases code size further leading to slower cache performance
*UPDATE* Dolphin 3.0-689 is now ready for download. Enjoy and happy testing Smile As always, i compiled Builds with and without ICC optimiaztions. Besides, I no longer use /O3 in my ICC Builds (Thx to Squall Leonhart!)

I've finally decided to get a newer build than 3.0-420. When will 690 be done?
690 is ready for compiling -> http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=1d9ac2f6e1feb6a69635a9e14ccaab0823acac21

Just be patient, the next builds will come next week.
689 it is, then.
Nice Work. However, I'd like to request a ICC Build of 688, since the removal of fast mipmaps in 689 seems to cause a lot of problems in some games if you look at the revision comments.
okay, just wait some days. Wink
Fast mipmaps was removed because it only caused bugs, and was also slower than normal mipmaps. There are no issues with normal mipmaps which were solved by using fast mipmaps.

For reference, fast mipmaps aren't slower than native mips, but they didn't have any performance advantage either.
Many people see games "broken" because of the removal of the option, however the fast mipmaps setting was just hiding brokenness of emulation. I still find it ridiculuous that people just came to actually report those issues when I suggested to remove the option.

Because most people don't care, as long as it works.
