If it's possible, could someone explain how to create a patched Iso? My Wii has been busted for months, I just got my new pc built, and I've been losing my mind in anticipation of finally being able to try Project: M.
I've made backup Iso's of my ps2 games before, but I don't know if doing it for a wii game would be the same process, and I definitely don't know how to patch it for P:M.
Anyway, I would GREATLY appreciate help on the matter. Thanks a bunch in advance guys.
Thanks for that man. Luckily I already had a compatible drive. Now that I have an iso, I just need to know how to patch it like the others in this thread have done to help get this 100% playable.

You just have to empty User/Wii/Title completely into User/Wii
Damn shame there is no way to fix the other issues. Dolphin will also crash randomly when playing Project M which is unfortunate.
Looks like we are stuck till a Dev decides to look into it.
This doesn't work for me. It just recreates new data in the 'title' folder. This is on v3.0r600 with Brawl- and PJMd2, latest versions as of this date. Also, I'm using the OP's quide for playing the SSBB mods.
Edit: GXDraw causes massive artifacts for my system/settings. The standard VBI? seems to work fine for me. I dunno what a 'hook type' is, tho.
I think they recommended using an earlier version of dolphin in conjunction with that folder relocation to solve the save data issue.
I think like version 3.3? something or other.
Alright, after a bit of work, I managed to get Project M 100% and running. Modified the iso, no crashes and got saves working.
As was previously mentioned, to get the saves working, use an earlier version of Dolphin (I'm using 3.373) and dump the contents of user/wii/title into user/wii.
You will be allowed to create and save data at that point.
Thanks for all the info in this thread guys. now, if someone wants to try and get this online for some matches, i'm totally for it. pc specs in profile.
That's not exactly right. As I explained previously, for the saves, there are two options:
- You use a version prior to 3.0-460, and saving works fine.
- You use Dolphin 3.0-460 or above, and then for some reason the savegame (when running from Gecko OS) is searched for in /user/wii/ instead of /usr/wii/title/00010001/4f53474b/data/; so you can copy the latter to the former location and the saves will work fine.
As for the Snake/Olimar crashes, as it stands, the choices are:
- Use Dolphin 3.0-460 or above WITHOUT fixing the savegames.
- Patch the game ISO with the files you want, and then load the codes (with the file patch code removed). This can be done either through Gecko OS as usual (and uncheck "Insert SD card" once the codes are loaded), or if the number of codes is small enough (which it isn't for Project:M), you can instead load the codes directly in Dolphin (right click on ISO in Dolphin -> Properties -> Gecko Codes).
Hm, maybe I did something wrong when moving the save data (left it in an extra directory or something) I'll try that.
As for the snake/olimar crashes, though I did patch my actual iso, even when leaving the "insert sd card" checked, I do not get crashes.
I play with snake frequently and have no issues, and if you are playing Project: M Demo 2, then Olimar is not even a selectable character so that should save some people a bit of worry on that front.
Overall, once again thanks everyone for all the work put in to this thread.
Been MIA for a while. I Updated the first post again.

GXDraw is not stable and crashes, use AXNextFrame instead (these are called hook types).
as for the save problem, read my reply below.

-You need to copy the contents of both the "content" and "data" folders to /User/Wii/. Copying only the data folder's contents seems to only fix the ability to save, but it doesn't actually carry over the saved data. (see the issues part of the first post)
-The crashes seem to be a bit on the random side. I've played a lot of snake in vs and it works just fine. Sometimes it crashes right away though.
-No problem, you're welcome.
Edit: Looks like I'm wrong about needing the title.tmd, it doesn't make a difference. Try searching for the save files at user/wii/title/00010000/52534245/data/. If you can't find it or if you don't have the folder, search your computer for a file called "collect.vff". This file seems to only be used by brawl (it's not used by any other of the games in my Nand's saves at least) so when you find it, just open the file's location and there you go. There should be 9 files in the folder. If you find more than one, it's either because you used the old method, which creates another separate brawl data (this would be useless to keep) or because you have a backup.
is there a way to make this work on a mac, i found alternatives for all the stated programs except the sd card maker and i dont have an sd card
