What?

I'm guessing you meant 6870 or 7870.

Quote:does that give me an edge over the TS?

TS?

Edit: Based on results from urban dictionary I am going to guess that means thread starter.

Your cpu is the same so the only real benefit of this system over the TS would be your ability to use a higher IR without reducing performance. The TS GPU is good enough for 2x IR if I recall, which is basically 720p.

haha, my mistake, i meant 6870
And yes, TS is Thread Starter.

So basically, i could run a higher res, but filterwise is it possible to use them without dropping performance much?

What filters?
If you mean anisotropic filtering, that has almost no performance penalty, so you can do it on almost any rig. If you are counting AA as a filter, then that has a huge performance penalty.

ok, and using AA with this setup on say skyward sword, is gonna be a no go if i want to maintain a good fps?
Which type of AA?
My little brother has the 3870K, and even at 3.7 GHZ (Max clock I could get it to) It didn't run Twilight princess as well as a i3 could have. I had an Aftermarket cooler on there with heatpipes too! It over heated and I had to remove the OC. The Llano series are not particularly good overclockers.

Yes he was using the dedicated GPU.

For reference: I had the Asus Triton 70 laying around, and that was the 3rd party heatsink.
