I know that the GTX560 competes with the HD6870, and that the GTX560 Ti competes with the HD6950, but in battlefield 3, and also other Nvidia optimised games, the regular 384 core GTX 560 competes with the HD6950, and sometimes wins. Just check the minimum requirements for battlefield 3, as I've even been kind enough to post the link: Battlefield 3 minimum system requirements.

So I know that in other situations the HD6950 eats the GTX 560, but in Nvidia optimised games they're on par. I'd post the Battlefield 3 benchmark to prove it, but I'm too lazy to do more than one google search per post.
Wow, that is a surprisingly high performance advantage for nvidia cards. We almost never see results like those these days.
Possibly a stupid question, but are all fans the same size? That is, could I buy any fan from the link you posted and know that it will fit/work in my rig?
Depends on your case. If it is standard size you should get away with most fans, if is is smaller then you'll need to be careful, and if it is huge then you can use any fan compatible with your socket.
Be careful using the word "fan", as that implies just the fan. Use HSF or air cooler if you're talking about the cooling unit.

Both fans and air coolers come in many sizes. Fans have standardized sizes (for example 120mm, 90mm, 80mm) whereas air coolers do not.

I thought you were talking about fans when I read that the first time. I would use the word "small" there instead of "smaller" (I know I'm nitpicking).
OK, but it could be argued either way. I'll try to make everything I write clearer, in order to avoid confusing the number of people I have been recently.
