It doesn't have the advance option "load custom textures", but only "load hi-res textures", while checking that does not work. Though it does with later revisions which have the right option.

So, is there any way to make this work with mine nontheless?

On some older builds it simply doesnt work, I had the same problem way back with the xbox360 button packs. Unfortionately I have no way to fix it for you as it is dolphin related. I am generally jumping around between the latest releases.

(03-19-2012, 06:25 AM)slmpika Wrote: [ -> ]So I can finally test out the custom textures, and, I have to say, it looks much better than I thought it would. The fonts (with one exception, I will explain later) are easy to get used to and look good with the game. When looking at the screenshots alone, I missed the fancy battle font, but I don't really notice it while playing the game. Therefore, while it would be a nice touch to have a fancier font, I wouldn't put it at a very high priority.

My main issue with the new textures is the main font used for dialogue and general text. For whatever reason, it seems as if certain letters are being cut off or squished. I assume that this is somehow caused by the way that letters are not sized correctly in the new texture file, but it may also be due to rendering/emulation errors. I've linked a couple screenshots. Notice in particular the "h", "r", "i", and "t". Upon playing further, it looks like it may even be a transparency issue.

I tried to find the file(s) where that font is located to attempt a fix, but for whatever reason I could not find them. Could you tell me which files contain this font?

Edit: I played again without the custom textures, and the issue still exists. I think it is a problem with DX9. I played through the whole game with DX11, so I never noticed, unfortunately, DX11 has problems loading custom textures.

Font Issues

Yes the issue with the text getting cut of and so that you mentioned are from what I can notice, the internal resolution being higher, conflicting with the actual rendered resolution. It is not so noticeable with default fonts because they are quite blurry and out of focus. But the moment you use mine, you notice the moment something is cut off. If i swap my resolutions around on one scene, one letter gets fixed but another gets cut off, i think it is the way the game scales it. Because depending on resolution it only has X pixels to display the letter, which if it is less than needed, it cuts off one row. I have tried my best to manipulate the texture files, but then it only works better for say 1080p, the moment you switch over to another internal of actual resoltion, it causes issues here and there. I have never tested it with DX11 though since like you said, it makes one big mess of the fonts then :p

If you want to poke around, the fonts are in a few files:

General fonts:
SX4P01_4c410ca0_2
SX4P01_014dc8e9_2
SX4P01_b04fc3d4_2
SX4P01_efc67150_2

These are the most noticable with your issues.

Thanks for spotting the typo, I will fix it for next release.

Yes you are right, I did do them but forgot to include the files, will do so next release
So I messed around with the font a bit and got it to look a little better. There are still a few quirks here and there, but it's an improvement overall. I tested it at various other resolutions and it looks fine on 720p and unnoticeable at resolutions below that. I only needed to change one file; I've attached the edited file below.

On another note, I was replacing other textures on my own for fun and found that whenever I tried to replace Fiora's "shoeless" texture, the game would freeze, or her legs would be a bluish color. I really haven't investigated further, so I don't know if this applies to all "feet" textures or just this one specifically. I wouldn't worry about this now though, I'm just documenting it here for reference in case a similar problem pokes up in the future.

Yeah like I explained there are some weird behaviour with some of the portraits, trying to get to the bottom of it.

Updated main post with PS3 butoons

You are giving me what I totally wanted but didn't even ask for. *laugh*

Thanks!

I switched to the PS3 controller after I completed Blade and regret that I didn't start on it earlier.

The original classic pro feels the best but I didn't want to bother getting a USB converter for the control pad.
The new textures are great (really, great job!), but even after the next update with new face-textures characters will look awfully horrible. Would it be possible to dump and edit at least the face mashes? If possible, however unlikely that may be, it would surely make the game look a whole lot better.

What dolphin revision?
I am having issues with text ingame with this mod within Dx11, I'll show some example. Basic setup for configuration, 3.0-555, with load custom textures on (of course). This text error only happens with this mod, I can disable load custom textures and everything is back to working order.
