Hi people from Dolphin.
Yesterday i downloaded the last version of dolphin and tried out Twilight Princess. Everything works fine but the framerate is low. Generally in bigger areas i have 14-18 FPS. It is really low for what i'm looking, the music is slow and vibration appears after the movements (this is no problem i think it is because of low FPS).
Then i tried the 3.0 (release) and noticed a little improvement in FPS (1 or 2). I also tried the bloom hack i disabling some things.
My specs are:
Processor: Athlon 64 X2 4000+
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 520 GT
RAM: 3,00 GB
With this PC it should work fine (I think), maybe it's the processor i don't know.
In this video this game works fine in a similar PC:

Thank you for any future help!
Good luck!
Your CPU is too weak (Dolphin relies on CPU, not on GPU or memory)...

I'm pretty sure that Dolphin relies on both CPU and GPU.

For speed, all calculations is done on the CPU, which is all the OP needs to know, GPU only handles the video thread
The CPU handles the video thread as well... the video thread is the one who controls the GPU :|
Oh, bad news. I need to change my motherboard and CPU to play on Dolphin. It will be a bit expensive.
Well, thank you for your help.
Overclock if you can, it would help (maybe)...

I don't like overclocking. This PC had some refrigeration problems, an overclock could be too much and i don't want to burn it

Good idea though. If i do i don't know how much i should overclock: 20 Hz? 50? 100?
Thanks for the help.
Hi, I am new here, sorry for resurrecting an old thread but just to say to the OP that even with my quad core q6600 overclocked to 3.1GHz and my GTX480 I have low FPS in Twilight princess, it doesn't matter what resoultion etc I use, even the lowest possible I get in open areas around 17-20 FPS. Dungeons, towns etc are all with 30 FPS stable.
I mean, we have better hardware than a gamecube (gamecube have
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gekko_(microprocessor) ) , so I believe the issue with Zelda TP and Dolphin is just coding related more than anything else.
Hope that one day, we can enjoy Zelda TP to it's fullest.

Your assumptions are wrong!
