Im building a dolphin computer and im buying a i7 processor 3.4ghz what would be a good video card and what motherboard to use
I have an i7 2600K and a ASUS ATi HD 6950 2GB card to go along with it, that I can recommend.
As for motherboard I use one from ASUS, if you're going to build don't get cheap on the mobo department just read a couple of reviews for some OC friendly ones and you'll be alright.
can you recommend an exact motherboard please
would the Rampage IV Extreme work
This is pretty good:

Asus P8Z68-V PRO GEN3

So if i have a i7 2600k and a ASUS ATi HD 6950 2GB video card and a Asus P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 would my dolphin games run at full speed

Not all games; there are a few games that no current hardware can run at full-speed. That setup will handle a vast majority, however.
Thanks

That's exactly right. There is plenty of games that I have that struggles speed wise even with this kind of setup.
The best thing one can do is to wait for a new official version of Dolphin or something because these days hardware wise a quad core Sandy Bridge i7 and a kick-ass GPU is as good as it gets at the moment I think.

Well I suggest that you get an i5 2500K instead of an i7. The i7 is really just overkill. Make sure you get the i5 2500K, (it's $20 more than the i5 2500) and buy an aftermarket heat sink. Then overclock it for best results. I ran every single dolphin game perfectly when I used this build:

i5 2500K @3.3 Ghz (I know it is the default clock, It was before I did any overclocking)
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 (This motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271 I am still using it now. It's amazing for the price.)
AMD Radeon HD 6870 (I have the Gigabyte windforce cooler, this one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125357 I just recently bought a second one. It runs ANYTHING on ultra, including Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2)

Plus on this build I could run Battlefield 3 on high, Crysis 2 on high, pretty much any wii game on dolphin with 4x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering.

Don't waste your money, bro.
