Hi guys, I'm having a trouble that I couldn't find in any other thread, maybe you can help.
I'm playing sonic 4, monster hunter 3 and zelda twilight princess, and some other games.
They run smoothly (monster hunter isn't running 100% speed all the time, but at 28-25 fps its pretty playable for me).

The real problem is that every 5 to 15 minutes the fps just drop like crazy for 3 or 4 seconds (5- 7 fps)
This is really annoying and I'm wondering if maybe I'm configuring something wrong.

I've tried dolphin 3-154, 3-425, 3-427 and r6505 DKTOS MH3 FifoBsy L8 (the last one for the mh3 obviously)

My pc:
Windows 7 ultimate x86
AMD Phenom BE II x2 @3.2 ghz (dual core)
nVidia geforce 9500gt (1gb)
2 gb ram ddr2

I saw some of the pcs you guys have, and I know this isn't that great, bur I found a lot of games to be decently playable in this pc.

I hope someone can help. Thanks!!Smile
i would say it could be a temperature problem...
could you check your temps while fps drop?
(realtemp or your tool of choice)
you're probably right

just using chrome= 50°C-60°C
5 minutes into playing MH3= 70°c-80°C
during a fps drop= 84°C-88°C

I knew I was having temperature troubles with this pc, but I didn't expected to be this high.
the problem is thet I'm using a reeally old pc case, doesn't have any coolers, and the position of things is just terrible for the air flow

thanks, I'll see what I can do to fix it, probablly have to buy a new case
in realtemp
on the bottom is a status indikator
if the status changes from ok
to sth other
the cpu throotles down

I'm using Asus Pc Probe 2, it came with the motherboard
when the temp reaches 80°C the windopws turns red and starts beeping.

tomorrow i'll unsamble and clean every part of the pc, that usually helps lowering the cpu temperature for a few days.

I think that if I can keep the temp lower than 80°C dolphin might run smoothly

I'll tell is this work.

thanks!
Well, I've cleaned up my pc.
Playing mh3 the temp stays stable in about 77°C to 79°C
Game runs relatibly smooth, without mayor fps drops.
This makes clear that was a temperature problem.

Thanks, specially to all the coders and staff, for constantly work to improve dolphin
But without overclocking , 79°C is too high for desktop user
My Laptop : 70-72°C max with dolphin
Desktop : 60°C max with dolphin
Buy Arctic cooling MX-4 , clean the old thermal compound then apply the new one
Depends on the architecture. 79C is too high for a phenom II.
