Ok so i downloaded dolphin 3.0 4 days ago and the only game i play is pokemon colosseum. I have a sony vaio... 2.3 Ghz i5 dual core, intel hd 3000 graphics, 4 gb ram.... my laptop plays pokemon colosseum at 100% speed at 60fps.... my friend just bought an asus laptop with all the same specs as mine.... his cpu is actually a 2.5Ghz intel i5.... an his will only run it at 50% with 30fps and it lags horribly. Mine runs it amazingly. The only i could find different is this... i used everest to check the components of both our laptops and this is the only difference i found... my pc says it has dual core 2700Mhz (27 x 100)
his pc says it has dual core 800Mhz (8 x 100).... i dont know what that means and could that be what is causing him the problems??
What are the specific CPU models that the two of you have? From what it looks like, the difference is that his CPU is much weaker than yours. The CPU makes up a lot of the performance with Dolphin.
everest says that i have an intel i5-2410M @ 2.30GHz
it says his is an intel i5-2450M @ 2.50 GHz
His CPU doesn't seem to be un-underclocking.
Same config ?
he use integrated gpu or dedicated gpu ?
Check his CPU temp with "realtemp" when running dolphin , there is 80% chance that his laptop is overheating -> CPU clock speed go down
His CPU is much faster than yours
same graphics as my laptop... intel hd 3000 graphics... i checked everything i could with everest ultimate and the only difference i saw is what i mentioned above.... that mine says 2700 MHz 27 x 100 and his 800 MHz 8 x 100.... it makes no sense to me... and i wouldnt think it is overheating but its worth a look
Click on the battery icon then change "balanced mode" to "high performance"
Take a picture of dolphin and realtemp then post here
Like this
8x100 implies his cpu is being underclocked from its normal frequency of 2.5 GHz to 800 MHz by the multiplier being reduced from 25x to 8x while the base clock of 100MHz is staying the same. There are utilities which say what speed your CPU is running at as well as the standard speed. Check what speed his CPU is actually running at.
You can also modify the clock speed with Realtemp
ok well it wont let me post the pic... all i have is my phone and it says its to large but i will tell you everything you needed based one what you took pics of
His graphics congfiguration is setup just like yours.... realtemp puts his cpu at 798.21 MHz.. and the temps go like this 41 36 Temperature ©

Load is 71%
