I will would be very happy if someone could possibly tell me about the specs and how well they can run dolphin. Looking to record lps for my youtube channel both wii games and gamecube games.

That's because of your Nvidia GT 540M - class 2 GPU (28.8Gb/s)
Look at his specs again , Nvidia GT 610m which is Nvidia GT 520MX - class 3 GPU (Yup ! nvidia just rename it) . With poor memory bandwidth (only 14.4Gb/s) , it can only do 480p which is the same as wii ....ruin the point of emulation

thanks for enlightenment Wink

Seem ok for now . But you need that much space on the HDD ? Seriously, a gaming laptop without SSD is just.....
IMO :
_Add IC Diamond Thermal Compound Since dolphin is more demanding on the CPU than PC game
_Swap the 750Gb HDD to either 500Gb Seagate Hydrid Drive (HDD + SSD = Hydrid Drive) or 90Gb OCZ SSD

Windows Boot speed : SSD >> Hydrid Drive >> HDD
You can also buy an external HDD 2.5" later

the reason why i need that much space is because i plan to do lps on this laptop, so i need it to last for a long time, sdd vs the hdd argument is fun, but sdd is expensive as shit, and i can always swap out hard drives when i can afford it, the term poor college student seems to be extremely relevant recently and honestly i hate having a spending limit, but i need to make sure i get what i need, sdd will come later. and tghe ic diamond thermal compound is a very good suggestion, never thought about it.
