I don't know if this event is as important/nice throughout the world as it is here (Brazil), but our version of the event is pretty awesome so I though I'd post something here

Right now I'm writing this from my desktop computer in one of the 7000 terminals on the restricted area, where only the ones who bought the ticket months ago (before the sales ends up) can enter. Each terminal is equipped with electricity (of course) and an internet cable, which leads to the awesome 20GBit internet link.

We spend the entire week here playing, organizing championships, overclocking, and fucking around. That when we are sitting on the tables with our PCs. Meanwhile, there's numerous events, like lectures (not sure if that's the word) about pretty much everything geek related, official championships, prizes, round tables, more fucking around, etc.

I just got here, and I loved something I saw when I entered: There was a real sized statue of the Joker, than I saw a video cable coming out of his ass, and then some guy came and opened it's chest, revealing a Mobo and HDs. I asked where the power supply was and he showed me it was inside Joker's head, it was very awesome

This is really, really amazing, I'll play some Team Fortress 2 now with some folks that just invited me and tomorrow I'll post some photos.

Oh, and there's one more thing: The event gives each registered person a camping tent, so we can even sleep here !!!

The name of the event is Campus Party, it is ongoing from 6 to 12 February. People stay connected almost 24h a day, stopping only to sleep in the tents in the tents saloon. I know it was originally from Spain, it's the 5th Brazilian version of it, I know it happens on some other countries too.

Lols, anyways you'd need a ticket, and there's no more, it went out two months ago. It costs $183 in dollars. not that expensive imo, since everything inside it besides food is free.
