I got a Intel Celeron 420@1.6GHz processor (single core), 4gig ram, Intel G41 X4500 (internal, it came with the motherboard).
I tried running Resident Evil Remake but all I got was 3FPS on gameplay while I got 30FPS
on the map, menu and sometimes 15 on the 3D cutscenes.
By next month, I'll be buying an Intel Dual Core E6600 3.00GHz. Will this make it run smoother or at least make it playable? Has anyone tried playing on a Intel G41 chipset?
Please tell me if someone tried playing on a PC that has a Dual Core but only has Intel G41 chipset. Thanks a lot guys!
Nope, not at all.
You still need a new GPU
Jeez. So it'll be at least a few months before I can play Resident Evil Remake then. Btw, I think it displays all the graphics (lighting, fog, etc) perfectly. Except, it was running real slow.
It should be a lot faster but still nowhere near fullspeed (because your gpu will bottleneck the cpu, you need a graphics card).
I recently tried the emulator on a AMD X2 processor with 3.00GHz and Ati HD4250 built-in card, it works. I got 30FPS constant on gameplay and cutscenes.
Question is will I get the same results with a Intel Dual Core E6600@3.00GHz with Intel G41 built-in card?
I just browsed through the forums and I saw that Intel G41 was in the "can barely run Dolphin" category.
Another Question: How barely is that? Like it can start but cannot play or like you can just see the title screen and has lots of bugs?
Barely as in it will work (maybe), but it will bottleneck your CPU and not allow playable speeds.
I may sound real dumb but I don't really fully understand things.
I think that having a bigger processor will give off bigger FPS.
As I only have an Intel Celeron 420@1.6GHZ (single core) right now.
But by March, I'm gonna buy an Intel Pentium Dual Core E6600@3.00GHz.
Or did I get it wrong? Maybe it doesn't matter what processor I have? Maybe it's the built-in card (Intel G41) that needs replacement?
CPU is most important, but when you have a very weak GPU, it's going to slow everything down. To get the most out of that processor, you'll need a decent video card to go with it.
