Hi there, I'm a noob and need some quick help been looking for help and haven't been able to find some, it's for a PC I'm going to build, and wondering if it will preform well? Will it run Wii games at good speed such as Skyward and Metroid series?

Motherboard
MSI 970A-G45 AMD 9 Series

CPU
AMD Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition

RAM
Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3

Video Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (1GB

Thanks in advance
I wouldn't go with that CPU. It'll be enough for some games but many others will run too slow. Intel i5's and 7's is where you should be.
Or if you're hellbent on saving money an i3 2100 can be had for the same price as a 960T. And even cheaper pentium 600 and 800 series sandy bridge cpus will perform almost as good as an i3, and they can be had for $65-100.

Thanks I really appreciate the tips. I was thinking to just save up for a new motherboard and CPU and go with a Intel Core i5-2500k Since I read Dolphin depends mostly on CPU plus overclocking wouldn't hurt either, that will certainly help right?
Yep, a Z86 motherboard and an i5 2500k are a perfect choice for dolphin, you could also wait for ivy bridge but thats your choice
Btw, you havent mentioned other parts such as cooler, PSU, etc. or do you have no intention of replacing them?

Which motherboard would work perfectly with Intel i5 2500k for overclocking? As for the PSU was thinking of a Corsair CX600 (600W), and the cooler for the CPU keeping the stock one for now since I probably won't go over 4.3Ghz for a awhile. Any suggestions on better builds would appreciated

If you go for an i5 2500k, your setup won't be much different from mine. The motherboard I have is an Asus P8Z68-V LX. The BIOS are pretty helpful for overclocking, especially since I've never done it before. Actually, I still haven't done it; I guess I'm just too lazy. Though, at stock speeds, I've only encountered slight slowdowns in Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia, probably because I'm using LLE. Everything else runs perfectly. I've only tried about 5 GCN games at the moment. My computer's also pretty good PSP emulation, though dunno about PCSX2.

I've got liquid cooling and my temps on any of my cores have never broken 44 degrees Celsius, even under full loads. My case is pretty spacious and airy. Just keep an eye on your temps during gameplay and you should be fine.
never oc on stock cooler, tests show it goes up to 98 C at 4.5 GHz and 87 C at 4 GHz

Mine doesn't go over 47 with stock cooler Big Grin

That's cause yours blows. Tongue

The upgrade from stock to liquid cooling was free courtesy to some holiday upgrades from Cyberpower. I don't complain with free. Smile I'll have to see what my temps are when I OC, i.e. when I finally get around to doing it.
