I dunno, I much prefer Fi's autotunes over Midna's baby babble. :p

Quote:I don't know, I didn't find TP that much... fun to play. It's a good game, no doubt, but it's missing a few crucial things.

First of all, some of the tasks are really, really tedious -- like collecting those stupid Tears of Light, three times. The Dungeons are definitely much less innovative and surprising than in SS (think about the great idea with those time crystals, there's nothing comparable in TP).

Then, the game is *incredibly* easy. Come on, I didn't collect anything, neither bottles for extra lives nor heartpieces, and still I died like, twice. Not a single of the bosses can be considered "hard". If you don't die at least five times at the final boss before you make it, it's no fun.

The fighting system was oversimplified by having the shield be raised whenever you autotarget. If you have a fighting system with two actions ("strike" and "block"), don't remove one of them...

For the overall style, it's all too... smooth. I can't find fault with either the graphics nor the enemy design, but both of them are missing the "wow, now that's cool" effects known from other games. The same goes for the dungeons -- nothing wrong with them, but they're missing the highlights. Every dungeon plays the same, and every part of a dungeon also does. That hasn't been the case in, like, Majora's Mask. Also, stuff like having every enemy "explode" in the same way after they die doesn't really fit in imo.

Anyway, Midna was a thousand times better than Fi. That's a clear plus. ;P

I agree with all of this (except the part about the graphics, which I couldn't care less about). But overall my problem with the game is that it's just not fun or engaging (for me anyways). It's hard to figure out WHY you don't like a game, it really is. All you know is that you don't enjoy it for whatever reason. I'm not totally sure why I don't like TP to be honest, it just doesn't feel fun. It might be a single major problem or a combination of minor things but I do agree with everything said here.

I can however say with absolute certainty that is has to do with the "style" of the game and it certainly has nothing to do with the wii having a bad reputation. Developers can produce an extremely engaging game with virtually any style, genre, or platform, as evidenced by history. Playing through TP felt like I was just constantly walking from one boring task to another, never really caring too much about the characters/story/puzzles/dungeons/quests/etc., nothing drew me in.

A lot of people like TP, a lot of people thought it was ok, and a lot of people hate it. I'd say the majority thought it was ok. It ultimately comes down to how much fun you had with it.

At least Midna wasn't constantly annoying you with "There is a 75% probably that [insert obvious statement about how something works here]". I hate side characters that act as walking tutorials.

Well, the funny thing is that Fi appeared *after* the tutorial part of the game. ;p

I seldom find Fi annoying. There is only a 30% probability I ever hear a word she says anyway.

Yeah, I kinda feel that Fi is way too annoying, I'd go as far as saying she's even more annoying than Navi was. But that's just my personal opinion.
Either way, I liked SS more than TP mostly becaues of the motion+controls and all the various interesting mechanics in that game. And Upgrades... I FREAKING LOVE UPGRADES.
Also, I'd bet the new Zelda on Wii U will beat TP and SS alltogether. The hardware that sytem has is just astonishing, and if PS4 or Xbox720 doesn't come out before Wii U, it is gonna be the most powerful gaming console to date.

Here's the some footage from CES 2012 of Zelda Wii U: http://bit.ly/kpsDKm
Fi is the most annoying side character in Zelda EVER. It's like "I FREAKING KNOW MY LIFE HAS DECREASED DO YA THINK ME BLIND?! I CAN SEE THA FUCKING HARTZ YA KNOW? SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP!!!!11!!1!
...
STOP F*CKING BLINKING ON MAH SCREEN I CAN HANDLE MYSELF IDIOT, SEE AH GOTS POTION AND FAIRY IN THA BOTTLES YA RETARD, I GONNA DRINK IT WHEN AH THINK ITS TIME! SCREW YOU!!!!1!!"

Noisy little bastard.

@Bludger
Yeah but even after WiiU is released it will be a long time before a Zelda comes out. :/
Also, I wouldn't say it will beat the other games just because it will have great graphics, in fact my favorite Zelda games are A Link to the Past and OoT, SS is good but can't beat the classics imo...

I'm quite certain Zelda WiiU is gonna be a launch title, but who knows.
I'd agree on the old games being best games of their time, not all time though. If SS is any indication to what's gonna be WiiU Zelda, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be awesome.
My fave zelda games are Minish Cap, Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask (not in any particual order), and I will see about changing this list once I finish SS.

It takes 4-5 years average to make a Zelda game.

I dunno, SS and TP are good, but all others since OoT... Meh. Meh big time imho. :/

aruzo

Twilight Princess is one of my favourites. TP Link is probably the most badass aswell, the way he fights etc..
Quote:So I've learned over years that a lot of people dislike or full on hate Twilight Princess.

You got some reliable sources for that kind of statement?

Why would anyone want to hate one of the best and most serious Zelda's of all time?
Those who hate the game should re-think their values seriously because they don't know jack shit about good games.
