or FXAA

Which backend?
For d3d9:
FXAA: works, causes blur/text distortion, scales with resolution, meaning the higher your internal resolution is set the more it reduces aliasing, the less blur/text distortion you get, and the higher your performance hit becomes. If you set your internal resolution high enough it can actually have a performance hit in dolphin (FXAA @ 4x IR is a tremendous amount of workload for the gpu).
SMAA: This is just a modified version of FXAA so same as above. I personally think it looks inferior to FXAA, it doesn't blur quite as much but it appears to be generally less effective, and causes more distortion and occasionally even sharpening artifacts (since it uses a sharpening filter to try to restore the sharpness of the original scene). May work better than fxaa at lower internal resolutions, I don't know.
MSAA/CSAA: lol, nope, the whole reason we have SSAA in the d3d9 backend in the first place is because d3d9 doesn't support MSAA with offscreen rendertargets
OGSSAA: yes, but only works well with the older builds before neobrain "fixed" SSAA in the d3d9 backend. You need to use the hex code 0x00008000 or 0x00080000 and 4xOGSSAA needs to be set in BOTH dolphin and nvidia inspector.
SGSSAA: Not sure, haven't tried it
HSAA: Not sure, haven't tried it
TRMSAA: lol, nope
TRSSAA: lol, nope

TRSSAA ?
What graphics card can handle this?
They struggle even at 9xSSAA

????
What the hell are you talking about? TRSSAA is a lot faster than OGSSAA (which is what dolphin uses) or SGSSAA.

I didn't even know what TRSSAA was

No one but NaturalViolence really does...

You guys are tempting me to work on my AA guide, and I really don't want to work on my AA guide:

I think I finished the SGSSAA article if I remember.

At the moment 4x internal resolution might seem fine but dont you think that perhaps
sometime in the future we would be happy to scale the internal resolution a bit more?
My point is that like all other hardware screens are also getting better and they are
propably going to have more pixels than they have now so dont you think it would be a
good idea to have a "custom" option like this:
Internal Resolution
1x
2x
3x
4x
Custom
and in custom you just enter what resolution or yx resolution you need(I dunno if it have to be a multiple of the original resolution)

That's been talked about, but nobody wants to write the code for it. Neobrain was working on it for awhile and stopped (although if you ask him about it he'll deny it
).
).
