Actually your thumbnail would be the size of the entire chip.

DA-YUM!

Then how big would the GPU be?
172mm^2 is the total die size. But I have no idea what percentage of that is IGP circuits.

Theory/assumption time. Sandy bridge HD 3000 took up 41mm^2 of die space. Ivy bridge is about 25% smaller than sandy bridge overall. If we assume the gpu takes up the same percent of die space as sandy bridge, and a 25% shrink that would put it at about 30mm^2, or 6 x 5 mm.

If you were to upgrade my build, what would you upgrade first?
(I love planning ahead.)

Done.
I have a favor to ask. Could you please confine all future questions directed at me to this thread: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=19039&page=39
or PM me, your choice.

This includes the question you just asked me plus the one in this thread: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=21352&page=2

I only ask because you've been derailing a lot of threads now and I have the unfortunate tendency to always answer the question even if it's unrelated to the thread (which in retrospect I should probably not have done). The last thing we need is a few more question threads like the "Good $500 build?" thread which is now going on 40 pages.
Just throwing it out there:
That AMD 12core Bulldozer chip has more issues than a 12 year old teenage girl...
Do not buy it.
I fact, AMD is losing in the CPU wars to Intel by a lot now... The only thing that AMD has better than Intel is those CPU's with integrated GPUS. Which is sad because if Intel overtakes the CPU market, the prices of i3-5-7 will skyrocket...
