This is my first post and I'm very new to this whole emulation thing, so please, forgive my newbishness.
I'm having the exact same issues as you artshe and we have a very similar set up. Could you please let me know what "LLE" and "HLE" are in reference to. I'm not 100% clear on what I need to do to get this awesome game up and running.
Thank you for your time

said i should try too disable Audio Throttle which worked for me since i passed the blackscreen and i'm now in the second temple in TloZ: Wind Waker (Without any problems so far). If you have the older version of Dolphin the Audio Throttle is located in "
Audio" settings in Dolphin but if you have the new version it has been relocated into the
"General" settings. You will see something called
Framelimit Change it from
Auto til >
Audio instead.
I hope this helped you
I will give this a try tonight atshe, thank you very much for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it!
It worked! Thanks so much for the help

Hey dont thank me

LordVador is the hero hahah!
I've been trying the audio throttle thing but i can't get past the giant bird boss cutscene it just freezes.
i've tried everything recommended ITT and am still met with a black screen upon finishing the cutscene with the talking boat.
it's a bit frustrating, and I'd greatly appreciate any alternative methods of fixing it.
i have a saved state set a few A button taps away from the inescapable black screen of death

* SUCCESS UPDATE * i eventually got it to work by loading my latest saved game, and replaying with DSP LLE enabled as shown below:
http://screensnapr.com/v/yt3XnG.jpg
so either i didn't have everything in order, or this method requires more than one try.
unfortunately only sound effects work for me now, e.g. no background music, but hopefully after some tinkering i'll fix it. regardless, i made it through without error, and shall switch back to DSP HLE..
and so, once again the brave and mighty heroes of forums.dolphin-emu.org had slain the black screen of death.. but, for how long will it lie dormant in defeat?
* SUCCESS UPDATE #2 *(REGARDING SOUND ISSUES)
if on your journey to defeat the black screen, you were directed to enable "fix item hang" in the right-click game properties window, disable it (as shown below) and then close and re-open dolphin.

Hi,
I am really sorry to dig up this old thread, but after trying everything you suggested and looking through all the google search results I could find on this topic I just ended up here again.
To play Wind Waker I use the current Dolphin Version 4.0-7788. I tried using HLE emulator, LLE recompiler, and LLE interpreter, but neither works. I have tried using XAudio2, OpenAL, and even no audio output, but every time I step through the door and get thrown into the water the screen freezes.
Other settings I use:
Dual Core enabled
Idle Skipping enabled
Framelimit: Auto (also tried 60)
CPU Emulator Engine: JIT Recompiler
Force Console as NTSC-J is checked
For rendering I use Direct3D running on an ATI Radeon Mobility HD5650
No V-Sync
Native Solution (640x528)
I am running Dolphin on Windows 7 64-Bit.
Any suggestions? Appreciate all the help I can find.
Welcome to the forums, it looks like you haven't read the rules as we have a rule against necroposting here. Please post your question in the appropriate game thread next time.
For Wind Waker, the game thread can be found
here.
As for your issue, check if you have a good dump by comparing your game hash with the ones found on
GameTDB for example. In Dolphin, right-click the game -> properties -> info (tab) and click on compute.
Feel free to move your post there and include the above if you are unsure as I'm locking this.
