Exactly, i'd like to know the guy that picked the nominees, no way can you put twilight princess over windwaker and some of the other categories had fishy nominees too.
I cannot believe I watched this shit. It was like watching an MTV award show for video games. Filled with "celebrities" making pop culture references and "us gamers, right guys?" pandering to an audience that somehow found that shit entertaining instead of wanting to vomit as they felt their brain cells dying. This represents literally everything wrong with the video game industry.

Why did I think this would be any different from last year? This is spike TV after all. Last year I watched 4chans /v/gas instead and I'm glad I did. I hope they do it again this year.

Quote:Telltale Games won a lot of awards. And seeing The Walking Dead becoming the GOTY, I'm really curious about the game.
The TV series are pretty fun to watch, does the game have the same feeling?

Yes. Everyone who I know that has played it loves it.

Quote:Game of The Year - The Walking Dead - The Game (Telltale Games) *oh come on, sounds fixed*
Studio of the year - Telltale Games
Best Xbox360 - Halo 4 (343 Industries)
Best PS3 - Journey (ThatGameCompany)
Best Downloadable - The Walking Dead - The Game (Telltale Games)
Best Adapted Video Game - The Walking Dead - The Game (Telltale Games)

Good choices. At least they did something right this year.

Quote:Best Wii/Wii U - NSMBU (Nintendo)
Best PC - XCOM Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Games)
Best Shooter - Borderlands 2 (Gearbox)
Best Action Adventure - Dishonored (Arkane)
Best RPG - Mass Effect 3 (Bioware)
Best Multiplayer - Borderlands 2 (Gearbox)
Best Song in a Game - "Cities" by Beck (Sound Shapes)
Best Original Score - Journey (ThatGameCompany)
Best Graphics - Halo 4 (343 Industries)
Best Performance by Human Female - Melissa Hutchinson as Clementine (The Walking Dead)
Best Performance by Human Male - Daemon Clark as Handsome Jack (Borderlands 2)
Character of the Year - Claptrap (Borderlands 2)

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Out of all of those I think claptrap as best character offends me the most. It's a robot that spouts pop-culture references from the 90s in an annoying voice. I have no doubt that this was coordinated with gearbox so that they could play that stupid cutscene at the awards show and have some filler content.

Mass effect 3 barely had any rpg mechanics.

XCOM was a terrible game in a year filled with good PC games.

Borderlands 2 is more of an rpg than a shooter at its heart and its shooter mechanics are really shitty, especially compared to a lot of this years releases.

Borderlands 2 best multiplayer.......wow.....just wow.

Halo 4 with best graphics. Even on xbox360 it does not have the best graphics of any 2012 release. That should go to something like the witcher 2.

Quote:Most Anticipated - GTA V (Rockstar Games)
Best Independent Game - Journey (ThatGameCompany)

Meh.

The Walking Dead game is all about making story choices that affect what you do next. It has very limited player control and basically revolves around you searching for items with an on-screen pointer and pressing buttons to get passed certain events. The game was very loosely based off of the TV show, but I liked it. I could see some people finding it boring or someone needing more action in a game to enjoy it. It's probably not a game for everyone.

Fixed.

I think someone's unhappy TF2 didnt win anything Tongue
But...that's what he said...
I meant in the award list i wrote above
y u no say so before?!
I guess i should have used the word corrected instead of fixed since fixed is used alot on the forums and perceived to mean something different.
Quote:I think someone's unhappy TF2 didnt win anything

I honestly don't care.

1. It wasn't released this year so it shouldn't have won any of the "X of the year" awards
2. It's not the best PC game of all time
3. It's not the best fps game of all time
4. It's not the best multiplayer game of all time
and so on.

So yeah I can't think of any awards that it would deserve to win. I may like the game and I have been actively playing it this year but that doesn't mean jack squat when it comes to awards.
Game awards mean nothing to be honest. Unless you are a developer/publisher.
