Really? How can you ask that after reading this thread? It's what the thread is about for crying out loud.

People seem to have a problem in understanding that effect is part of the game. I can remember running SMS on my old GC and there was the heat blur.
Make a zsnes branch and commit it to that. Tongue

onikeaton

Couldn't an AR code also effectively achieve the same thing? There's a code circulating for Wind Waker that removes the fullscreen heat effect in Dragon Roost Cavern.
Sorry for the thread revival but I don't hope that the heat effects in SMS is gone in the next official release? That's one major thing I really like about the game running around on a tropical island.

I can't understand why anyone would prefer to look at an image that looks like someone smeared something all over it. But yeah extreme is right, it's a hack, so the answer is no.

Have you played Super Mario Sunshine on the real GameCube? The heat effects is on the real console, and heat effects removed is not accurate emulation in my book.

I don't care if the image looks like someone smeared something over it, it's a genuine part of the game and not some kind of side effect from the emulator.

But yeah I believe you, if it's a hack then I can relax.

More like why wouldn't they >.>

They're the supreme devs, they can do whatever they want.
People might start complaining that the heat effects is annoying and before you know it someone found a way to remove it completely.

I'm paranoid OK!
