Actually Xebra is not a new emulator. It's worth trying it. Some games work perfectly whereas they don't with ePSXe/pSX (the first Duke Nukem for example). Games with sound issues tend to work better with Xebra too. Just one reproach : the interface

Well it was kinda new for me, pSX I have heard of but not XEBRA/ARBEX and it's definitely new compared to ePSXe.
But anyway, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Mega Man X4 ran beautifully and it was kinda nice for once not having to have decisions anxiety over which plugins to choose.
There's a lot of games left to test and I wonder if you can switch discs with this emulator in Lunar 1 and 2.
This might be a winner after all and I really thought the interface was clean (sure it took a while to get used to) but the experience was kinda like how it was with SSF and Ootake the first time I used those.

I haven't retried SSF for a long. I read the emulator had gotten really better. I played on Ootake with a friend and it reminded me how the PCE was a cool system. This console had never been "really" exported here in Europe. A shame...
Yeah it has and I still remember when I played with SSF back in 2006, it played Dracula X Nocturne in the Moonlight very well on a Pentium 4 machine with Windows XP and today it plays beautifully on my newer hardware and Windows 7.
The developer/author behind SSF is a very talented person, and I really admire his work. Being able to emulate the Sega Saturn this good and one of the best Castlevanias ever is a privilege. The same goes for Ootake, Dracula X Chi no Rondo is rock solid.
Furthermore I feel like I have to say thank you Solarsonic, if it hadn't been for you and this thread I would never have found out about XEBRA. This thread made me research other alternatives to ePSXe and I guess I just hit the jackpot with XEBRA.
The most accurate and rock solid PSX emulation experience I have ever had and best of all no more plugins ever again, at least for the games only on one disc, I might need to keep ePSXe just in case if XEBRA can't handle disc changing.
This...this was a good day today

Well that does it, the entire PSX collection boots and plays excellent in XEBRA which I couldn't say about ePSXe sadly which required workarounds and different versions, I only wish I would have come in contact with XEBRA much sooner.
It took me less then 30 minutes to learn how to operate it without hassle.
The ePSXe troublemakers Resident Evil 3, Doom and Final Doom booted up just fine and ran just like as if they were played on the real PSX.
Overall it felt like all games played like they should as if it was on the real PSX. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night had zero graphical glitches here while on ePSXe it had some annoying graphical glitches, most games I played didn't have any graphical glitches...thank god!
The sound was beautiful and crispy smooth.
The only thing left to figure out is how to change discs in Lunar 1, Lunar 2 and Abe's Exoddus but that's another day.
Hopefully I can say ePSXe R.I.P
I am really looking forward to replay Castlevania SotN and Chronicles again with this 5 star emulator.
Edit:
This day just keeps getting better, all my perfect saves/memory cards from ePSXe works perfectly with XEBRA all it takes is renaming the cards from ePSXe to what they're called in XEBRA.
Edit 2:
Swapping discs is possible in XEBRA, ePSXe have done it's share, R.I.P buddy!
