I suggest using bleech hack when not in darkness area, and switching it off when you enter darkness
Thanks for the advice. Indeed this could be a temporary solution though quite imperfect, as even in the "bloom areas" the blurry quarter of the screen is rather obvious. I don't want to sound like a pompous purist here, but I think this game is too much of a masterpiece for such compromise. I'll wait for a proper fix.
If you want to play it perfectly, you going to have to wait for a long time...since it has more then just this one bug.
All the bugs in game I remember :
1) one mentioned here - blurry quarter of the screen
2) grass is missing
3) minimap is missing in direct3d,also the link is missing when you enter inventory. This is not missing in opengl which bring us to
4) it's too slow in opengl ( like 5 fps )
5) currently opening music is missing - it was not missing a few revisions before, however then the sound was randomly stop working
6) I am not sure if sound still randomly stops working ???
That's it AFAIK
It's far from perfect for now, but truly playable. I've played for 2 hours without major bug, works fine.

It is.

That's probably true.
Should I buy the WII or GC version to try emulate?
I'm leaning towards the gc one because i'll be playing on a 360 controller but obviously what ever one runs the best is the one I want. I'm sure this questions already been asked/answered but I couldn't figure out what to search for the find out. Cheers.
Gamecube version is the way to go
Thanks gonna give it a go tonight.

Did you use the OGL or the D3D plugin?
With D3D its very playable, but the minimap, grass and the music in videos are broken -.-
I know, my english isn't the best I'm from Germany

Working well for me, had to go with dx9, played for 3 hours and only had slight slowdowns in the first village and the woods (still very playable, about 24-28fps). It's annoying not having the map, and I hadn't noticed the grass being gone, but that will surely piss me off next time I play.
It looks so wonderful at 720p on my TV though, the gfx can compete with any new game, due to their art direction alone.
