Mario Kart Double Dash
Super Smash Bros Melee + Brawl
Super Mario Sunshine (Its all black in the intro.. o_O )
those games are pretty good playable with decent cpu.
for melee you only need a ~2,5ghz dualcore (phenom or core 2 duo)
for sunshine i would recommend ~3ghz for full speed most of the time
mario kart double dash needs a bit more....but it can be played with fun at lower fps. 3-3.5ghz are usefull here, depending on how fast you want it.
(i get 40/50fps on most tracks with 3ghz)
with your old singlecore i dont see a way to play any game with fun, no matter what gpu you use.
Quote:The GPU executes the codes the CPU makes out of the models and positions
thats correct but it doesnt really matter.
the graphical part is easy and really executed in hardware. (the gpu)
but all the geometry and game specific must be emulated.
that means the gpu will need about the same power like the gpu of gamecube/wii which is very weak.
but the cpu needs much more.
If you for example take hyrule field in zelda TP like it is at the moment.
you would need maybe a 10ghz dualcore cpu to get that in fullspeed.
so dont get it wrong : buy your graphics card for pc games, but for dolphin you rather take a 100mhz faster cpu and stick with some old crap gpu (if it supports opengl 2.x

)
