It could look offtopic but this reminds me of (excellent) movies like V for Vendetta or THX 1138. Fiction and reality come so close sometimes...
Yeah, bad thing those movies you said are all distopic, which isn't exactly what I want for my life.
Well i'm not american but if this only affects american ISPs i'd give people about a month or two to figure out a way around it. Also i dont know much about networking but from shigumi's explanation shouldnt a program like vidalia or thor be able to work around this law, if it should enacted on US ISPs only?

Neither do I. But these are good "anticipation" movies. Dark movies yes but movies with hope in the end...
Meh, so thats our big world end in 2012. Political madness, leading to economical failure and then society disruption, the industry of technology disappears, and there goes humankind. Heck, I was expecting an Alien invasion.
It might go this way unfortunately. And aliens might save us instead of annihilating us

Nooooo that would be lame. I prefer to think they'll help annihilating us faster.
But back on topic, whats the status of this SOPA law anyway? I'm not very familiar to the american laws aside from what we learn from Law & Order

This voting it's going trhough, is it like, the last one? If it passes there, no more hope?
The question is : Do they have the means to do it? Because if they do I guess they won't care if they have the right to or not

Here in France they don't really seem to have the means but we aren't the USA
