FileSonic shuts down all it file-sharing capabilities in response to the Megaupload takedown

White House Petitioned to Investigate MPAA Bribery

The last one just stunished me

Quote:First, MPAA CEO Chris Dodd described the blackouts of Wikipedia, Reddit and others as corporate PR stunts which manipulated and exploited the sites’ users.

“Some technology business interests are resorting to stunts that punish their users or turn them into their corporate pawns,” Dodd said.

Then, a few days later when many lawmakers had already dropped their support for the anti-piracy bills, the MPAA’s comments turned even more grim. Talking to Fox News, the MPAA’s boss threatened to stop contributing to politicians who don’t back legislation designed to protect Hollywood.

“Those who count on quote ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don’t ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don’t pay any attention to me when my job is at stake,” Dodd said.

The MPAA (and the RIAA) remind me of this dick (the character, not the actor btw.)

Yes, if you've seen this movie, you know what I'm talking about. THIS MOTHERFUCKING DICK.

That's what I see when I think MPAA and RIAA now, since they're like a mafia of sorts and have their hands spread all over SOPA, PIPA and even ACTA. And the sad thing is that they think this is what, the 20th century still? After all that happened, I think that people are realizing that Dodd's statements are total bullshit, seeing that the Internet industry has more common sense, manners and morality than his industry, damn hypocrite thinking that us, the common people are just "corporate pawns" to these "immature" companies that actually live by one of the golden rules of business: the customer is always right. Isn't that hurtful? Calling around most of us in Americans, no, the world pawns to the so-called Internet "robber barons" of sorts? And these companies are "punishing" us? No, they're only informing us of this legislation, and that the statement he made makes me think that he wants to be like this dick:

See the similarities here? Companies like the MPAA, RIAA = Shin-ra

I only want to see those bad guys in my books, music, movies, and video games, except they get thwarted every damn time. D:<

EDIT: That and I suspect that the MPAA and the RIAA MIGHT have been involved with the Megaupload take down, them greedy bastards.

Just found out about FileSonic the hard way. There was good, legitimate material on that site that I was using for a project too! I hope it's only a temporary "knee-jerk" reaction to what happened with MU. The things happening because of the U.S., it just doesn't make sense anymore.

Given that the MPAA and RIAA just tried to "kill" the internet, maybe it's time the internet return the favor. Wink

...

Of course, right after I get premium and upload all my builds there. Dodgy

They have a convenient FTP system too...

If fileserve and mediafire go down, I don't know what I'll do.

Torrents maybe?

Megaupload, FileSonic and etc are just a preview of what's coming if SOPA passes

Fileserve is down

Yeah , I just noticed that , but apparently media fire is not giving up. I just hope they don't get shut down too
It's time to start the global blackout day:

All websites are being shut down, and with shut down, i mean the servers.
Websites that don't go down are getting DDos'ed by Anonymous.
(Or simply DDos the nameservers of the ISP's Big Grin)

However, can anybody tell me why the fuck they took Megaupload offline?
Didn't they have general terms and conditions so the user was responsible for everything he uploaded?
Why the fuck did they take the whole website down, instead of searching and banning the user ;D
With Megaupload I suppose they wanted to make an example. The importance of this site was really impressive : 7 millions of users here in France (for 60 millions of inhabitants)
