More info on background of SOPA & PIPA (TED Talks)

*a new challenger approaches!*

sorry, had to make a pokemon reference Tongue

On a more serious note, a "trade agreement" (ACTA) takes SOPA and PIPA to the next level (worse) and on a GLOBAL scale:

EDIT:
Haven't looked too much into it, and according to some, it's already been signed and is set to go into effect at some point.

EDIT2:
Dang this is old. This next video was uploaded in 2009, so this has been going on for a while:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82IFC27KAJo

EDIT3: According to Wikipedia, it was signed on October 1, 2011 by these countries:
United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea

It's open for more signatures until March 31, 2013. I'm not sure when it will go into effect, or if
it already has, but they did a damn good job of hiding this from the general public Angry

Also according to Wikipedia, the actual text of the agreement was withheld from the general
public due to being material "properly classified in the interest of national security."

It gives all the signs of being fake , before the page had the background images from megaupload, but since they were being copied from the old remains from megaupload they are not loading anymore, and actually the site can also be accessed from the url http://satuno.net/. If it was megaupload I would expect them to at least give a more serious message, this guys did not even write phishing correctly

Long story short , do not go in xD

SOPA and PIPA are (almost) dead. Now can we talk about the law that already exists?

This should not be allowed to happen:
Feds Falsely Censor Popular Blog For Over A Year, Deny All Due Process, Hide All Details...

Reading these news articles makes me want to leave this country... but then I have no idea where I'd go or how I'd get there.
Just a little thing I found ironic: I found it kind of funny that the only thing some websites could do to protest SOPA from shutting down their sites was for those sites to close themselves down. I guess that would be like finding someone who wanted to kill you and you not liking it, then in protest you just kill yourself. Big Grin Nice job!

Don't get me wrong, I understand what it was done for, but it's still amusing to me.
