What about you Zee? What's going on in Africa? Do people and medias talk about SOPA?
Well Brazil Government hasn't given any official position yet (typical ¬¬).
The media here is against SOPA of course, this isn't being much discussed here but everything that happens about it goes to the news. I've saw they calling it what would translate to Digital Armageddon and everyone is eagerly waiting to see what's next. Our internet usage here is something like 95% based on US sites, the biggest accesses are for Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, if the US internet start being censored there we'll feel it as much as the americans.
I guess people don't really get aware of what's gonna happen. A lotta people here don't even know what SOPA is. They don't really give a shit about this. To be honest I'm not really surprised : When Berlin's wall fell we were announced three days later. In this affair people are gonna complain as usual when things are done. Really sad

No, not really, people hardly know about SOPA, most of my friends are hearing it for the first time from me, our government hasnt really done much when it comes to online piracy, they're still pretty much trying to battle piracy on the land, the main ISPs here are the mobile telecom companies and they make millions of dollars a year, they dont really restrict or give a shit about what you do as long as you pay for it, but majorly all the people i've talked with about SOPA so far are all against it

It's supposed to but to know if it's an illegal site they gotta verify every sites so... Big Grin
It will take much longer... The House and the Senate have 2 different bills, and right now they are very different. Also Obama may veto the bill, which might kill it entirely.
