I have 2GB of RAM and an AMD AthlonX2 3.0 (Win7X64)

Should I get more RAM or better CPU?
you dont need more RAM for Dolphin (but for a 64bit computer it's recommended to have 4GB of RAM)
as for the CPU, I don't know how good that AMD chip is
what games do you plan on playing?

All Zeldas. All StarFox. All Metroid. ETC. All the good known games
then I'd suggest overclocking that CPU to at least 3.5GHz otherwise a fair amount of games will not reach 100% speed
Zelda: TP, StarFox Adventures and Metroid Prime 1-3 are somewhat demanding in power if I remember correctly

CineBench R10 Single Thread
2848 Points

SandyBrige 2500k
5860 Points

sry no way to get speed above 80%

IDK it doesnt say anywhere on the box. Only AMD Athlon X2 250
Athlon II 250, not Athlon X2. Still sort of weak as far as dolphin is concerned. Either overclock or upgrade to a sandy bridge system (which will require replacing the cpu, motherboard, and probably ram as well).

nooo all of this is brand new. (Custom built) my mobo has a am3 socket, can hold up to 16GB of RAM and has an overclock switch. im goin to get 16GB of ram and maybe replace the processor.
Getting extra ram won't help at all. And upgrading the cpu to a phenom II (the fastest cpu you can get on that socket for dolphin) will only provide a small improvement.
