Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering if 3x IR on a 1080P display would down sample the remaining 504 pixels of vertical resolution that wont fit giving a slight SSAA type effect to the image ?. Ive tried playing Soul Calibur 2 using 3x IR and 8x AA and whilst there are no jaggies on the characters, objects in the distant background still have them, where as 2x IR and 4x SSAA dont. I'm running an AMD FX 6300 and an R270, no matter what I throw at the GPU it can handle it with gamecube games, but its pushing it with some Wii games like Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and id rather not have to change my settings for every game I play.

Yes. And with 2x it will be upscaled from 1056 to 1080.

You're using openGL I take it? The SSAA filter is quite effective at removing aliasing. Though it does add a bit of blurring.
Use whatever looks the best to you. Some people prefer sharper and some prefer softer.
Marked unofficial + unstickied.
Here's a question I've been pondering but cannot actually test, so it's purely been theoretical.
If you set the IR to "Auto", will Dolphin render at resolutions higher than 2560x2112?
StarScreamer how do i know if my pc is bottleneck or not ?
i5 4440 / Hd 7990 , my vga fan runs only at 15% speed and load min 16% max 51% (checked with msi afterburner) when playing Tera.. so it's a bottleneck right ?

Auto window size or auto multiple?
Auto window size: Yes
Auto multiple: No

Starscream left the forums half a year ago.

Your cpu is your bottleneck.
In your first step, you instruct us to change the internal resolution while the game is running, but changes in graphics don't take place for me while I have the game open. It would be an enormous time-saver and so much less stressful if I could tinker with the settings without reloading a game... how can I do this?
You never said what game you were playing (and where you are in the game). That's crucial information. If you're playing a 2D game or a part of the game that relies heavily on 2D graphics, you're not going to see a change.

It was Metroid Prime >_<
I spent the entire day tinkering with the settings. With a LOT of trial and error and tips from other users, I found what I posted in my own thread below to work best for me.
