This game no longer requires LLE since the problems with sound were (mostly) fixed awhile ago and sound works pretty well on HLE. (there are a few popping noises in the audio once in awhile)

Make sure "Custom Projection Hack" is enabled for the game and zFar Correction is at 1.99998 or there will be issues. Also don't enable Accurate Vbeam Emulation since that also causes problems. Having Audio Throttle disabled and instead using a framelimit will help with speed also.

The only problem I am having at all is that after getting Drachma my menus have slowed down a lot and the item menu has slowed down so much that it is hard to use it.

PS. This was tested on 3.0-305 and the Xenoblade Chronicles 3.1 patched version.
I finally found a solution to the items menu not working correctly. You need to disable the external frame buffer and then you will be able to navigate the items menu and the graphics will update.

PS. This didn't correct the fps being at 9 in the item menu but at least it is usable. In the game I get 32 fps and in menus (other then the items menu) I get between 14 and 21 fps but it all works fine including the sound.

System Specs
AMD Phenom II x4 920 @2.8 ghz
Geforce GTX 260
6GB DDR2 800 Ram

Okay so i configured dolphin pretty much exactly as you've described here, even downgraded to 3.0-305 (though i don't know what the Xenoblade Chronicles 3.1 patch is and couldn't find it), and it's maybe possibly a LITTLE better i think, but i'm still getting a lot of scratching and missing sounds.

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? CPU is i7-2600k if that's relevant.

Urgh...

I tried everything in this thread including the Xenoblade hack version, and the sound is still garbled and there are a lot of missing notes while in game (cutscene after selecting new game for example).

What am I doing wrong?
LLE should solve the audio issues, Xenoblade hack or not. For me, it works perfectly when I set LLE on thread. It might be that your hardware's too slow for LLE. For LLE on thread, I'd recommend a CPU with at least three cores, so Dolphin can properly take advantage of putting LLE to work. What's your setup?
I was implying that the Dolphin with HLE Xenoblade hack would produce good sound but it's still garbled. Is that normal? Or should the sound be close to perfect with that hacked version?

Anyway, my computer isn't too new but it's still quite capable. I have a quad core Q9550 overclocked to 3.3Ghz. If I use LLE, even with on thread enabled or accurate vbeam emulation, the game runs too slow and the sound is completely messed up (but all the notes in the music actually play).

I don't know if this is normal, maybe I'm doing something wrong? It would be appreciated if someone who found the right settings to have this game in a playable state and with working music posted a screenshot of all his settings.

This is a recording (using stereo mix, so it's 100% the same that comes out of the emulator) of the game with HLE on the hacked version

As you can hear, there are a ton of notes missing and some other notes not playing correctly. It also slows down.

This is with LLE, and as you can hear, it's even worse

I was implying that, to my knowledge, HLE audio doesn't cut it for this game at all. I don't know how the Xenoblade hack would perform, but like I said, I imagine LLE is the best way to go.

My i5-2500K is still on the stock 3.3GHz, but I think the Sandy Bridge architecture makes a difference in this case. Also, I've compiled my build myself with optimizations, so maybe you should try grabbing a pre-built one, like Lectrode's (if you're on Windows). Also, I'm on a 64-bit system, which I'm sure helps too.

LLE audio needs emulation speed to be near 100% if you want to play and have smooth music and sounds. What does Dolphin say is the percentage? Mine stays 98-100%, and I haven't seen it go anywhere else. The lower that percentage goes, the less likely LLE is going to help you. Regardless of what you think, if you're not hitting high percentages, then your hardware isn't capable. If you can OC it any more, try it, just watch those temps.

Mine sounds just like the YouTube video. Like I said, LLE audio will sound pretty bad if you're not getting full-speed, and LLE is pretty demanding.
