For the record I don't want him to retire. I just want him to go back to being a focused game designer working on only 1 game at a time.

They're good but they could be better.

Because Miyamoto's role in it was giving the main idea. Of course he supervised the entire work but that's what he's good at, CREATING games and good ideas, not making administrative calls.
Well Aonuma has been part of the team since Oot, and that was pretty good. I'm not comparing him to Miyamoto, but he's definitely one of the reasons for the series being so good.
Zelda games have always been good games. Not "excellent" games but always "good" and interesting. When Zelda SS was released I was hurry to see what it was gonna give. The result is : a good game, not excellent, but a good game again. Waiting for 3DS and WiiU new episodes...

You have extremely high standards then, or a whole different taste in games.

To me, Zelda is probably the best franchise out there. All the games I've played were extremely memorable and "excellent" games.
Never felt bored playing them in contrary to most other games.

That would apply to everything. It could always be better.

I agree of course. One of the best franchises. I've never been disappointed either. Why not excellent? Link has always looked too "gentle" to me and the whole universe of Zelda games in general. Same reproach to Mario (and other ones) but I appreciate Mario games though. Don't misunderstand me I like Zelda games I'm gonna tell you a secret : the first game I've ever played on a console was Legend of Zelda (the first one) on the "old" NES Big Grin
Soo, turns out he was just explaining why he always says to his team of young devs "I'm going to retire", but he is not going to retire from anything, and the person who talked to nintendo was senile or else.

Meh, I can't believe this happens, we are entering the second decade of 21st century and people can't even communicate with Asia without creating an absurd fairy tale in the process.

If you're not sure then why don't you just look through the thread? It takes literally less than 20 seconds.

The zelda franchise is great, but the recent games just aren't anywhere near as good as the classics.

The thing is Myiamoto clearly is capable of making an amazing blockbuster, the thing is he doesnt always seem to know which ideas will turn into one, if someone gives him a right direction from the start tough success is guaranteed.

I agree with NV on most of his list, tough I really liked Twilight Princess, not because of the graphics itself, but because at the time I was thinking Id never see a so majestic build of the hyrule field as I had seen in OoT, and them I loved it, and I started some years later imagining the next zelda probably on the wii successor, with a hyrule field that coincidently similar to what we now see happening in Skyrim, so yeah the SS style disappoiinted me a bit.

but I really like the fighting because I always thought why not do something like this since I bought Wii Sports Resort some years ago, Im just not sure if I wanted it to be a Zelda. i imagined that mechanics on a more bloody game, and using the same technique as that slicing game of resort, like when you slice a bread you see its internal parts and layers according to the direction you sliced it, but that used for slicing a body, for example.
