No intel specifically said 77w months ago and have continued saying that at every press event or tradeshow since. If it really is 95w then they lied to us (not that I care that much, I'm more interested in the power consumption than the TDP).
You mean the 1 press event this year? I googled around, and I can find press events about Ivy in September of last year and early March of this year. The march event was when the 77w info was (officially) released. Intel hasn't said a word since, and certainly nothing about how the leaked 3750ks and 3770ks all have 95w on their boxes.

But yea, in the end it doesn't really matter... 77w, 95w, meh. As long as it can perform well, who cares.
It doesn't matter how many events there were, the fact is they said it.
Well, regardless of what they said, all we know right now is that 3770K and 3750K chips that were leaked out early have a 95w TDP, and they do not have the ES label that the prototypes had. So either the leaked chips are nonstandard, or Intel changed their mind. We'll see when the reviews come out.
CPU Mark
Ivy(4cores) = 7,209.9
Sandy(2cores) = 3,528.1
not much difference... but jeah bad comparison
Looks like the Ivy Bridge CPU's do get hotter than expected.
All the stores here have verified that every 3770K they have has a TDP of 95W.

The high speeds of 7-8.5GHz were done with liquid nitrogen. Sandy Bridge would be able to do something along those lines with Nitrogen. According to a link at the bottom of the last article posted here Bulldozer got to many GHz, which proves that for real world scenarios Nitrogen cooling is not a good reference, as look at what they do in real life.

EDIT: Misread something. Sorry for disproving something you didn't write.
