Gci files have a header and the blocks of savedata, the header had an incorrect value for the BIFlags (1 instead of 5)
because the header was incorrect the game would not recognize it

so i fixed it with a hexeditor

Both GCMM and NuGasa dump the incorrect BIFlag.
also the files are completely unusable when imported back in. most likely due to being protected saves.
as far as i can tell GCMM appears to correctly work with the entire header with the possible exception of the length field. Can you point out what I'm missing?

I do see that it retrieves the permissions separately from the rest of the direntry, and always sets the copy counter to 0
i can't really say, im not sure.

i imported a zoids gcn save with no issues, but the 0x7 fixed gci (05 patched so it'd work) was corrupt according to the card manager screen. (no icon and scrambled text).
now more amusingly, is that the unpatched GCI imported, had valid text but no icon and was not useable with the actual game either :|.

re-exporting the restored save the file was completely different to what was restored on both counts.

also tried r11 of GCMM and it wouldn't work on either of my official mem cards :\

Like LPFaint said earlier, you need to change the value at 0x7 to 05 instead of 01.
