To be honest, I never checked my CPU temp before you pointed it out. But I haven't experienced any sort of slow downs or overheating leading to shut downs. I'm quite new to the whole Dolphin scene, been playing my Wii games on the console up until now. It's only a problem when it comes to running games on Dolphin. Could that be because Dolphin is intensive on the CPU?

Yeah that may be the case. I don't think I do :S. Will probably just have to get a new computer case and/or heatsink.

Today I added a fan to the back and front of the computer and redid the thermal paste.

My idle temperature is now around 50 and when playing Skyward Sword it goes up to 70-75. But like you pointed out before, during summer time it gets hotter and I should prepare for that.

Haha yeah =), I'm down with those basics.

Emulating (recent) games is almost always intensive on the CPU.

You still haven't told me your budget Tongue.
But I'll just write the case and cpufan that I'd recommend.

Case
Cooler Master CM690 Advanced II (it should be around €78,-)

CPU Fan
Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B (€35,- but it has reached its End of Life, thus might not be for sale anymore)
Gelid Tranquillo Rev.2(€27,45)
Hyper 212 Plus(€25,- Make sure it's the PLUS one, or else it wont fit in your socket)

Prices are just estimations Tongue
Get whatever is in your budget.
If you require a cheaper case, let me know.

Good, now that's almost like it. Something is still a tad off.
Okay, that's good to know.

Oh I'm so sorry! I keep forgetting to haha.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions Smile. I think I'll change my case, should change quite a bit. And that case looks very good.

Yeah, still trying to investigate what is up, but I'm a bit relieved that it has gone down at least.

Seems like the problem is solved, is it only Admins/moderators that can add a [Solved] at the beginning? Figured it would be a good idea in case someone else has similar symptoms.

Thanks for all the help Garteal =). You have helped me a great deal and I hope this thread can be useful to other people out there!
You're welcome.
Keep monitoring those temps Smile
