Ok from what I remember, Dirge of Cerberus (sequel) sucked, Advent Children was awesome (movie, takes place before DOC and after FF7), FF7 is STILL overrated even though it is awesome, and Crisis Core was basically fan-fiction brought to life (prequel). I know it takes a lot of manpower to get these things done, but I still don't get why they chose FFX to remake rather than FF7, (other than all of the previous assets being essentially thrown away at the end of development for the PSX version and the PC version ending up being like garbage.)

i remember vague that they remade FF7 for PS2 and psp ? or announced it once anyway (at e3)

also, advent childeren had a re-release. a horrible one at that

Wrong, advent children's re-release on Blu-Ray was awesome, but everyone has their own opinion.

Also, I made a thread in August ( ) talking about the idea, (and Unity running on my PC, but that's unrelated), and I had crap tons of sketches at the time and I made more, this is not all of them, it's just that I have to redo character sketches.

Square says it would take 10x longer to make 7 HD than 13.

X is much more viable than VII because it's extremely linear. VII is too open worldy, so it'll be a pain to make everything in HD. Imagine the Overworld of VII with XIII's graphics. Even the PS3 would struggle there.

Would be Gran Pulse with oceans and towns. Hardest part would probably be redoing the prerendered background. According to this most of the original artwork was lost so a simple just take the old backgrounds but render them in HD or 3D isn't possible.

Well, they said they didn't do towns on FF XIII because it was too difficult to render massive towns like in past FFs in HD because there's too many people, buildings, you know. Now imagine if they would re-do, say, Junon and the Rufus Parade... Rofl.

They'd better concentrate on a new (and excellent if possible ) original FF rather than trying to remake what mght be un-remake-able

Come to think about it, you're right...Well...that really sucks... :\

If I recall, Yoshinori Kitase, producer of FFXIII, said something on the lines of

"One of the strong focuses of the series is cutting edge graphics. That's what people enjoy and that's what people associate Final Fantasy with."

I mean, seriously? Just graphics? They can't remake FFVII because they would need the same cutting edge graphics and it would be too much. I find it funny.

We have stuff like Xenoblade on Wii, I don't see how a PS3 could not handle a hypothetical game (which could be tweaked to match its power anyway).

I'm sorry but that claim is just overall stupid.
