Just beat the game using Kaicoopers config and it works great for the most part, good job.

Normally SS forward is for down slash, left , and right for diagonal and horizontal. moving both sticks out ward will do a circle if set up right. and using the joystick push down on buttons for the shake.

I tried moving the sticks in all ways possible and nothing worked.
I even tried using the mouse and keyboard setup but my mouse and keyboard don't work at all in-game. Dolphin isn't detecting my mouse's motion for some reason...

i used an xbox controller but im sure the ps3 should be similiar. I needed to hold the right trigger then move my right joystick. for me right trigger was keybound to "Fast" on dolphin so holding right trigger simulates swinging the controller quickly as opposed to not holding it down which simulates slowly moving the controller around (Not fast enough to acually trigger a swing)
yes Kaicoopers is a very good config for most any game pad, The sling shot is still pretty useless to me, I can use it, but it is a pain, and after I widened the screen the flying bug got better, but it is still very tricky.

I have beaten the first temple or dungeon finally had to do it twice, for some reason my save lost the small key, and I could not proceed to the main boss.

but second time I went there everything went as it was suppose too. My first save is screwed I guess, unless I find a code to add that key.

I wish the IR could be scripted somehow with a constant reference point, then it could be really effective, but I am afraid as it is with no set boundaries for a zero point, it will always be a tricky thing to use, unless you set up the wii controls I don't have blue tooth on this system, I may add it latter so I can use my wii controls.

I kind of enjoy the challenge of beating it this way though..LOL

As stated in post 2:

Q: Why is the Bird, the Beetle and Swimming so hard to control? Sometimes the unit moves sideways on its own. A: Showing IR (that you may have set to the stab attack key) makes these controls easier, just showing IR for for a moment (at the center of the screen position) will reset the gyro rotation matrix so that the unit swim or fly straight again.

Is actually very easy to fly the beetle with the right config. I don't use kaicooper but I can see he doesn't utilize the SHOW IR settings which are more efficient. JP warmed us that having it ON all the time interferes with the gyro.

Here is my config, the buttons most likely are different but, I control the IR with R1 (I use a ps3 controller- emulating an XBOX360, works better)

So when you load the game and it asks no IR data found or w/e you press R1+A and you can continue.

Now when you play you will have almost 100% flight/swim control. Every time this control goes out of wack you just press R1.

Bonus: you get the stabbing move in one button which makes the game way more playable too.

Also as JP suggested, i use the HARP with my keyboard, it went from omg why.. to nailing the songs in one time.

Here are both my configs, i can play the game 100% with full control of when the gyro goes crazy. If you can't control the IR you will be annoyed that it goes one side and there is nothing you can do about it.

There is a lot of good posts, but post 2 is very important to understand how the M+ works and in my opinion if you aren't utilizing the SHOW IR option, you aren't using it properly.

Also remember gyro sensitivity can be different for all of us, will come down how hard or soft you move the joystick really.

PS: thanks all for all the posts and help, thanks JP.

if you are having trouble with the cursor moving too fast and flying around the screen wildly while trying to use the clawshot, bow, dowsing or looking around you can set a button for "Slow" movement

i bind my L1 button to both Acc Range and Gyro Range 1, then i right-click the button for those and set the input range to 10 with the slider. my default values for the Acc Range and Gyro Range textboxes is 100 for both. this makes is so when you hold down L1 while aiming, it is less sensitive and much easier to aim at things, such as clawshot targets.

i use the left analog stick bound to the IR to move the cursor around and the values i use for the IR Sensitivity and Gyro Sensitivity are both at 10.

i keep my R1 button bound to Fast for swinging the sword.

hey toonces, i've been using ur config and it works great. only small thing is the direction of sword swing. i noticed that there's vertical drift of the cursor at the menu which may possibly affect the direction of sword swing. i've tried changing the ir sensitivity and it didnt seem to do anything. did u have this vertical drift problem as well?

hmm, not really. Try to center via the map if it is bothering you.

Also are you using MotionJOy via bluetooth? If so you need the latest driver, the old ones had a bug that create the situation you are talking about. Only affects bluetooth, I use usb.

Sorry can't help much.

Also to fly the bird upwards, keep L1+R1 Press and just move the Ranalog up and down, it might move in circles but is not as bad as it sounds.
