Well, I went original just in case. Cost me a fortune, though.
wiimote, nunchuck, motion plus, sensor bar and usb bluetooth + postage (12e) = 94 euros...

This is the only way to know you wont have issues. I chose to save money and all works but IR. If you want to save money you may end up spending more trying to get it right. Just make sure not to get motion plus inside.

thank you for your speedy reply.
Can I ask you whether everything is working in Zelda skyward sword with your hardware?
If ZSS did work Would you be so kind as to give me the model numbers on the wiimote, nunchuck, motion plus, I don't think you need a sensor bar in ZSS and I have plenty of Bluetooth dongle?
many thanks, I'm trying Amazon UK now.

Yeah, it's a bit weird. I assume the metal of the PC case blocks some of the signal.
hi guys, does anybody know if this sensor bar from a Top Gun will work, as I was under the impression that any light source (including candles) would work so I shouldn't these two work? They normally go vertically on each side of the monitor but I suppose I could just use one with two LEDs on top and leave the one with three LEDs at the bottom out of sight?

Any quick help much appreciated as I'm off to the market stalls for second-hand original Nintendo controllers today :-)
PS does this forum support image insertion?
I see no reason the Top Gun bar will not work for you.
okay guys need your help, everything seems to be working fine up until the screenshot below, when I'm asked to "point my real wiimote at the screen, and move the cursor to the centre", I have no cursor available?
I went into my mouse and Logitech setpoint mouse settings to make sure that I have turned off enhanced smoothness portrayals on the mouse pointer as this usually solves the problem in PC games.
The only other thing I can think of is that in Windows mode I have Windows Aero in a custom theme, do you think this could affect?
Any pointers much appreciated
PS. I'm not sure how to add images to my posts?
Oops, forgot to mention that I use a Logitech Air Mouse and Logitech diNovo Mini Bluetooth keyboard, but they come with their own receivers and dongles so do you think that would affect screen pointing?
I have disabled "Skip EFB access from CPU", but that doesn't seem to have made a difference?
Should I try an older version of dolphin?
Cheers
SORTED/SOLVED
I was using the wrong sensor bar, the Top Gun comes with two sensor bars for left and right vertical, one has three LED's and the other has two LEDs +1 power LED via the USB.
I mistakenly was using the bar with two LEDs when I should have been using the bar with three LED's.
The end
Hey guys, I've read a couple of pages -- to lazy to read ALL of the thread. Didn't see my issue mentioned though so I figured I'd ask.

For the most part, I get that error straight off the bat. Sometimes it goes into the Motion Plus calibration screen very briefly before giving me the error. My setup works fine in other games, so I figure it's something I have configured wrong?
