This will be the all-in-one Zelda Skyward Sword real controller issues thread. Anything that has to do with Skyward Sword and motion plus connecting/not connecting, which Wiimote to use/buy and everything else that is needed to play the game with real hardware should be discussed here.
Some quick points to make:
1) For emulated motion plus controls, go
here.
2) Some third-party Wiimotes may or may not work, it's best to buy official Nintendo Wiimotes to ensure compatibility.
3) For Zelda Skyward Sword discussion
not related to controls. go
here.
Much needed post, should it not be sticky? Also can we link to the setting up a real wii-mote thread?
motion plus: I thought this just improved accuracy, why is it "needed"?
The game will not start and the Wii-mote will not stay connected without motion plus.
I've read others have problems with the slingshot aiming too, so has there been a way to fix Link shooting somewhere completely different than where you're aiming ?
I use the 3.0-201 version since on r7719 the game runs like crap (10~15fps) and I don't mind the graphical errors.
I'd edit/delete my last post if there was an edit/delete button...
But, I did find the note in the Skyward Sword thread about Skip EFB, I'll try that out later.

Skip EFB must be disabled in order to aim correctly, however it will reduce your framerate by quite a bit. Although if your PC is powerful enough, you can disable it without any performance drop. I have gone through the entire first few hours of the game with it disabled, 30 FPS at all times.
I'm going out right now to get a new Bluetooth adapter, I suspect my cheap generic one is the source of my control troubles. Will update with results later.
As posted in the Skyward general thread;

So it read all your inputs precisely? As in, every swing was the correct angle? You could spam the sword super fast like those people in the previews who don't know how to play. (i.e. Jimmy Fallon) The bird is not super sluggish and walking on tightrope works right? Link's sword is not constantly veering out of sync? You can do repeated fast swipes that still follow each and every one of your angles correctly?
The game controls good for me, but nowhere near as good as it is on Wii, or how Nintendo intended it to control. I'm really hoping a better adapter will give me the ease you seem to have controlling this game, because up until now, its been a frustrating chore for me.
Anyone know if the "motion plus" works? Also how does this bar connect to the computer ( is it usb )? Do I need the KONIG bar? Also does the bluetooth need to be anything special? I have a few of them but dont have this KONIG model.

The controls works perfectly. No problems with any boss/monster in the game. No "sluggish" movements and no delaying reactions. Infact, this games' bosses is way too easy. And all the monsters requiring precise hits killed with ease.
The minigame with the bamboo thing - 30 hits, even better than my friend who's playing on the Wii and can't even reach above 27 hits.

Where can I find these? Can't seem to find them on Amazon.
