I actually had six, and returned 4 i didnt need, as long as you dont destroy the boxs like a monkey you can easily put them all back into their packaging and glue the top down. No one will ever know the difference. Why didnt I want all these remotes? I thought they went with my sons system, apparently they do not

My 3 Wiimote plus that work with Dolphin(Gold - Pink - Blue) :
LMA - RVL - WR/M-CX (X = 0 or 1 or 2 )
011WWA1000XX ( XX = random number)
RVL-036 (Same on 3 wiimote)
Please check these numbers before deciding to buy it

Ha ha ha ha. Weren't they suspicious of why you bought 6 and then suddenly returned 4?
Craziness ha ha.
My friend bought a used one from Ebay and it was also a TR. :| Is anyone currently working on this?
(12-06-2011, 11:02 PM)Integraoligist Wrote: [ -> ]ok, just so happens i was at Best Buy lastnight and remembered the poster on this thread saying he found a NON TR version at Best Buy in the back of all the other remotes, so I went to the bottom rack and pulled out all the remotes and bought the back 2.
I'll be damned they are not the TR's! woooo
So here are my findings, these are for the black colored Wiimotes with Motion Plus already installed.
The only diffrence you will be able to tell is the model # on the inside of the remote under the battery compartment.
The TR version says: LMB-RVL-WR/Z-C4
The non TR version says: LMB-RVL-WR/M-C0
My suggestion, goto Best Buy or whatever large electronics store is around you that has a LOT of WII motes in stock, buy a few, go out to your car and open one at a time checking for this code. Remember this code is only for the Black one's, I'm sure the other colors have different codes. Find what you need and return the rest.
Im glad that my advice helped you out

Seriously, go to Best Buy and follow my recommendation. Integraoligis, thanks for sharing the model numbers!
Before commenting on this thread, please read the WHOLE thread. Currently there is not a fix for TR versions. There may never be a fix as it seems to have difficulties communicating with dolphin, like the unofficial Wiimotes. If you want a Wiimote that works, go to Best Buy and get one that is on the very bottom row in the back. Otherwise, you could be stuck with one that could never work.

From my knowledge, there is no difference in the numbers on the box at all for either the non-TR and TR versions. I did a side-by-side check of the box for any difference.

Nah , it's not on the box . The numbers are under the battery

now-ah-days no buddy really cares about their jobs so they dont even ask. Usually a place would ask if there was something wrong with them but because i just glued the box back shut, no questions asked.
Because we can safely assume that Nintendo didn't roll these revised Wiimotes out only temporarily, we know that they're here to stay. So developers are needed to make Dolphin & the Homebrew channel and such work with the new Wiimotes. My final exams for this quarter will be over tomorrow, after that I hope to learn more about the project and then contribute. Mostly because I really want to play Skyward Sword.
So I started at the hardware level. I cracked open (unfortunately literally

I broke both of the top tabs which hold the remote together...), and looked at the chips that the new Wii remote pluses use.
Pictures of PCB below:

(hopefully they're good enough to see what's interesting)
So, most important is the bluetooth chip:
It's a CSR "8570 A05G 129BC"
Googling it reveals nothing, so that either means I can't use google properly or the chip is custom. Nintendo is big, so the second option seems fairly likely.
Attached are several pictures of the board. I really wish I had an old (non TR) Wii remote plus handy to tear apart to see what chips it uses, and unfortunately there are few if any good pictures of the Plus remotes on the web. So if you're feeling daring or if you can google better than I can, compare my images with what you find. If, of course, that is helpful even slightly. If you do take your Wiimote apart, be careful and don't break yours like I did mine.
Anyway, back to studying.

I was asking, because it you can't look before you buy. You would literally have to open the packaging... which is very unfortunate

Haha.... I bought mine from Best Buy... I told the guy I returned it because it wouldn't work on my computer. He was like, "okay..." and gave me a refund anyways.
I been looking more into why the new wiimotes don't work. It looks like they use a different protocol to communicate with the wii and this doesn't look like an issue that can be quickly fixed with updating some device codes in the dolphin source. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with reversing the wiimote to uncover what the changes are to the protocol. I am unable to get anything to work on the new wiimote other than enabling or disabling the vibration.
